Annoying Clockwork Orange
About the artistArt curated by
Tell us about this design.
I really like wordplays so the idea of combining these two "oranges" popped into my mind a while ago. And to me, the cover artwork of "A Clockwork Orange" suited perfectly for this homage.
Where are you from?
I'm from Heidelberg, Germany
How did you get started designing t-shirts?
I started submitting t-shirt designs to contests back in 2007 after I learned how to use Adobe Illustrator and improved my vector design skills.
Thankfully there have always been a few people who liked my work so I kept doing that in my spare time. :)
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
Always keep your Sketchbook with you! Start sketching all of the ideas that come into your mind, even the silly ones 'cause you never know where they lead you to...
What would be your dream job?
Getting paid for tasting new flavors of ice cream. I know that there are jobs like this out there! :)
What is your favorite thing about Clockwork Orange?
It's the irritating and disturbing yet aesthetic dystopia, the Korova Milk Bar and the futuristic looking furniture of the seventies.
What would your ideal house be like?
I like the idea of living in a house inspired by M.C. Escher.
That would be challenging.
Ghosts vs. zombies: which would win the battle?
I think there would be no reason for them to fight against each other.
But if you would be confronted with both of them, it would probably be way easier to get rid of a zombie, 'cause you couldn't physically kill a ghost by destroying the brain with a blunt object.
What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
Saturday Morning Cartoons inspired me the most. I remember I used to get up early on week-ends to watch Bugs Bunny, Tales from the Cryptkeeper, Gargoyles and Tom & Jerry.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
It's not a website in a conventional way, but I recently became addicted to this App called Instagram. I love this beautiful new way of photo sharing and it's so inspiring! I keep posting pics of my work in progress and other random stuff on a daily basis so feel free to follow me over there! (metamephisto)
Any shout outs?
My family and friends, Teefury, MJ and everyone supporting me and my work with buying this shirt! Thank you!
