There are a lot of people who find Pennywise to be on the creepier end of the clown spectrum, but I've met a few who aren't quite so selective in their definition of 'Freaky Ass clowns' and happily place Mr McDonald up there with him. So to celebrate those white faced ghouls of mirth I created this print. There may be those who see this as some kind of pseudo political corporate satire, but I just wanted to give kids nightmares about their next happy meal.

I hail from a small town in the North East of England, caught smack between the North Yorkshire Moors of American Werewolf in London and the industrial wasteland that inspired local boy Ridley Scott when he created the cityscapes of Blade Runner. It's not nearly as exciting as it sounds.

That my vastly wasted childhood of watching trashy movies and reading comic books has dangerously combined with a very childish sense of humour to create designs which have no fear of being painfully, obviously puntastic pop culture mash ups.  I call it Pun-Fu!

That despite being a lifelong zombie fan, I thought 'Walking Dead' seriously nosedived after Episode 1 and that Zombieland had the dumbest zombie survivalists in the history of Zombiedom (with the exception of Woody of course.)

Ghost stories, giant robots, chunky vectors and Root Beer (which is hard to get in the UK, although Alcoholic Root Beer is readily available)

Me and a friend used to constantly draw scenes from our own made up movie, a mash up between Raiders of the Lost Ark and Escape From New York. So basically, lots of Nazi bashing, eye patch wearing, treasure hunting badasses...with mullets!

The sheer, unstoppable, unreasoning mob mentality of a creature which wants to do nothing more than eat you. Obviously good zombie movies have to hole up inside a shopping mall while wave after wave of bad zombie movies fill the car park, but there are still more 'outstanding' examples of Zombie cinema than Vampire or Werewolf movies.

Judge Dredd set out to answer this very question back in the day, but since all reprints of that story have been banned, I guess we just have to look at the facts. One franchise has a football team mascot in a crown, the other an unspeakable, shape-shifting, child eating monster, older than time.  I know who my money's on...

My classic Star Wars logo tee.  It's not witty, it's not clever and everyone 'gets it'. I just love the simplicity of that logo and what it meant to me as a child. Before I even knew what logos and branding were, I could scrawl this ad infinitum on all my pictures and suddenly my drawing of Luke kicking Vader in the face Chuck Norris style would be given an air of legitimacy. My second favourite shirt IS Luke kicking Vader in the face Chuck Norris style, but for legal reasons the logo is absent.

Gah, that's like asking which is better, Eating, drinking or breathing!  But for quick fix pop culture cravings I have to side with my old pal movies. That I can invest the same, short chunk of time watching Evil Dead 2 or Mulholland Drive in one sitting, yet leave them with completely different emotions speaks highly of the medium and it's artists. As for a favourite, again you're killing me! Let's just go for the first movies I ever owned - Mad Max 2, The Goonies and An American Werewolf in London.

Work which sets out to be both fun and as visually pleasing to the eye as possible. I gotta admit, I'm a sucker for the eye candy and sometimes buy comic books I know nothing about based solely on some stonkingly pleasing visuals. Old school graffiti is a big influence, with it's bold linework and solid colours. Alot of old school video game character, post Atari VCS and pre Playstation, when games started to look more like the coin ops you found in arcades, but artists still had to be creative with the limited pixels and colours. 

All my fellow Vector-philes over at BloodSweatVector. Rondal over at Strangekidsclub.com who let's me post my Granny Grimm Ghoulish Alphabet on a weekly basis and indulges my gorehound sensibilities. My pal Richard Dolan who encouraged me to try my hand at more personal Tee designs. Dwayne Bell, the first fellow artist I became good friends with and who continues to inspire me with his great work and his amazing generosity. And of course my wife Victoria who continually supports me, putting up with questions such as which name works better for a zombie Brady Bunch design, and our two boys Jonathan and Xander, my greatest critics and daily inspiration.
