Aw man, that is just gorgeous. Love how it's all blue save for the yellow accents... Really nice stuff. Not sure if I'd wear it on a shirt, though, rather than a print... Make a shirt out of the raven-hair-lady sideart, though, and that'd be an instabuy.

Really like the design; the colours match it perfectly I think, though I don't know if perhaps it's a little feminine (in a sort of non-ironic way) for me to wear.

I like the sentiment:

"Life is the sea; love is like an anchor."

Though something feels slightly odd about the way it's written. This isn't a grammar nazi thing, as there isn't a "rule" for this I don't think, but I think the first half is a metaphor and the second half is a simile. Though you said it's a personal motto, I just wonder if perhaps the text would be slightly stronger if it were like:

"Life is the sea; love is an anchor."

or (though perhaps less so):

"Life is like the sea; love is like an anchor."

Though I think in a way what you have does a better job at softening defining love as an anchor, instead saying that it's similar to an anchor but not always quite as restrictive.

It doesn't really matter in the end though :P, and I'll probably buy it anyway! Congratulations on print and I'd like to see more designs like this in the future, as they speak to people as a whole rather than as an in-joke.

*Finally* an original design. I've been following teefury for over a year and I was become so so frustrated that literally every day for months has been nothing but fanart. When I looked back at the really old shirts I can't believe how awesome some of the art is. With this particular ocean-theme not being my thing, I can modestly admit that I understand why fanart shirts are done so frequently...it sells, and I understand that. But please, PLEASE I am begging you! don't wait so long between this and the next artsy shirt please!

While I think the design is great (and I love the side art), I also really love the mash-ups and pop culture designs. They are clearly popular and I don't think they should be dropped from Teefury. Perhaps a more equal mix of "art" shirts and mash-ups would keep everyone happy.

I think the intent is to say love "keeps you grounded" and keeps you steady, or, in the case of a storm, safe. It keeps you from getting lost.

I've actually owned the glass-entrapped-animals shirt since last Christmas. :3

Other than a Silver tee, I don't know what color would have worked for this. I love this design and the baby blue is a logical choice. Had it been on silver, I think it would have dulled the overall design and the message.

It intrigues me that people say 'enough of the theme' tees. That's the reason I first came to TeeFury about 2 years ago and the reason I don't want to miss a day. I love the clever mash ups and interpretations and can't wait to see what each day brings. This for me is meow but I don't intend to sit here and go pn about how boring it is, anymore than I intend to sit there the next time a mush/themed tee somes on an rant about how refreshing it is....If you want to compliment a tee/artist, go write ahead. If you effectively want to whinge, go somewhere else.

While I agree that the original art shirts are wildly refreshing, don't knock Doctor Who.

I'm pretty sure they were stating a fact in regards to the volume of Dr Who shirts... not criticizing the shirts themselves. Touchy, much?

As far as this shirt goes, I am not personally a fan but I love original artwork shirts. I'm glad this one got printed and I hope to see more.

this design is hypnotic and beautiful and i may yet get this before the end of the day...would love to see this shirt in my grab bag!!!! not sure yet though... it kind of speaks to me. would be proud to support this artist... not sure where this artist has been... need more of him please!! Okay, this is a dumb thing to be hung up on, but the fact that the first line is a metaphor and the second line is a simile is bothering me because it's inconsistent. I would rather it say, "Life is the sea, love is an anchor" or "Life is like the sea, love is like an anchor". Sorry, I had to say it. xD

I felt the same way... I actually visit teefury every day for those "pop culture" shirts. Don't get me wrong, I love the diversity of art tees, but wearing them doesn't create the same instant connection with strangers that my geek tees do.

I'd totally buy this, but I don't like the phrase on it. Actually, tend to avoid standalone metaphors and similes (and especially wierd combinations thereof).

Sign me up for the bird head! Brings a whole new meaning to the term "raven-haired"! Haha.. ha.. ooooh...

To everyone who doesn't like the message, you've obviously no idea how a boat works. Having an Anchor is an extremely important part of keeping a boat SAFE. Love being an anchor is a good thing. For some reason most of you hear this term and think otherwise, I'm not sure why, it certainly doesn't say "Love is a ball and chain". The anchor keeps the boat safe in a storm, safe from the beach and safe while the crew rests.

Thank you teefury! This design is a breath of air in all the recycled/re-mashed graphics taken from series/movies/games/etc.

Keep it up! If possible with some more urban themes, I bought all of those that I saw go by!

Must agree about T color though... a dark heather grey might wash out design a bit less, although stealth is good sometimes...

Tell us about this design.

It's one of my personal mantras. I wanted it to feel the way the ocean makes me feel. You can take it literally or figuratively, it's true to me both ways, and if I was going to make a real collection of shirts this would be one of them because it's very much what I'm about.

What is your most unexpected or exciting memory?

I spent the greater part of the last 2 years on the road, traveling in a vintage Airstream around the east coast. It was unlike anything I'd ever done before. There were a lot of adventures and even more misadventures, but it made plenty of exciting memories.

If you could make anyone besides yourself Ruler of the Universe, who would you choose and why?

Well I wouldn't choose myself anyways because I'm sure I'd be terrible at it. I'm sure I'd be bad at picking someone else too. So I'd choose my dog. When he sits on the sofa and surveys the living room, the expression on his face tells me he would be a kind and beneficent ruler. But see, like I said, that's probably a poor choice.

Do you have any surprising talents or hobbies?

Surprising, no, but where's what I've got: surfing, cooking, a bunch of art stuff and I play piano... and guitar... badly.

Do you prefer art or music?

They're both jerks.

Underwater city vs. city in the sky: which would win the battle?

Ah, I see where you're going with this. Very clever... I don't really know. Sky city is cool and all, but I just don't think anything can be as good as an underwater one. The underwater city is straight up magical, like a creepy, perfect dream. But we'll see. I'm looking forward to seeing. Sky city will definitely get its chance in my house.

Describe your ideal day.

Sleeping in, coffee at some little shop in town, hanging with friends at the beach, passing out at home, completely exhausted, but feeling salty, crispy and great.
