Tell us about this design.
It's one of my personal mantras. I wanted it to feel the way the ocean makes me feel. You can take it literally or figuratively, it's true to me both ways, and if I was going to make a real collection of shirts this would be one of them because it's very much what I'm about.
What is your most unexpected or exciting memory?
I spent the greater part of the last 2 years on the road, traveling in a vintage Airstream around the east coast. It was unlike anything I'd ever done before. There were a lot of adventures and even more misadventures, but it made plenty of exciting memories.
If you could make anyone besides yourself Ruler of the Universe, who would you choose and why?
Well I wouldn't choose myself anyways because I'm sure I'd be terrible at it. I'm sure I'd be bad at picking someone else too. So I'd choose my dog. When he sits on the sofa and surveys the living room, the expression on his face tells me he would be a kind and beneficent ruler. But see, like I said, that's probably a poor choice.
Do you have any surprising talents or hobbies?
Surprising, no, but where's what I've got: surfing, cooking, a bunch of art stuff and I play piano... and guitar... badly.
Do you prefer art or music?
They're both jerks.
Underwater city vs. city in the sky: which would win the battle?
Ah, I see where you're going with this. Very clever... I don't really know. Sky city is cool and all, but I just don't think anything can be as good as an underwater one. The underwater city is straight up magical, like a creepy, perfect dream. But we'll see. I'm looking forward to seeing. Sky city will definitely get its chance in my house.
Describe your ideal day.
Sleeping in, coffee at some little shop in town, hanging with friends at the beach, passing out at home, completely exhausted, but feeling salty, crispy and great.
