The Manhattan Furies
About the artist
Tell us about this design.
This shirt is inspired by "The Warriors", one of the coolest films of the '70s. As a huge "Warriors" fan, I always wanted a Baseball Furies shirt. So I made one!
Where are you from?
Livermore, CA. 45 miles east of San Francisco.
How would you describe your style?
I don't know that I'm the best person to describe it. . . hopefully others would describe my work as fun / cool / not terrible. At the very least, I would describe my work as not overly glossy.
If you could collaborate with anyone else, who would you pick?
Hervé Morvan is one of my favorite graphic artists. I would've loved to work with him, in the hopes of tricking him into revealing his secrets. Rob Jones is another of my graphic design heroes.
What historical figure do you most admire?
It would be cliché to say Abraham Lincoln. So I won't say it.
If you weren't designing shirts, what would you be doing?
Probably stuck in some job at Merv's Burger Joint or something.
Would you rather own a restaurant or a sports team?
Definitely a restaurant. I've always wanted to open a pizzeria, one with wood paneling on the walls and a bunch of great arcade games in the back.
Dogs vs. cats: which would win the battle?
Have to go with dogs, they have the size advantage. Plus, I'm allergic to cats, so they lose points there.
What is your favorite t-shirt color?
What has been your favorite vacation or travel experience?
I don't get to travel nearly as much as I would like to. Visiting Disneyland wins by default, since I've never really been anywhere else!
Any shout outs?
Peace to Ron G, Brucey B, Kid Capri, Funkmaster Flex, Lovebug Starsky.
Thanks to Hideo Kojima as well. どうもありがとう!
