grats on the print and good luck with the sales.

its just honestly not what I'd expect to see on this site. The design is printed way to small on the shirt and is too simple. I can appreciate the nod to AD&D but this just doesn't have anything going for it in my opinion.

It's an ok design, but I remember seeing the same shirt on another site and I had the same thought as before, "Oh another magic missile shirt, there are a lot of these on the net....nothing really pops out to me that makes me go, oh wow that's special, I want this shirt!"

Good shirt, retro , nerd appeal chic, too bad the guys I used to play D&D with were into killing beginners in their own party while I slept, oh well I showed them I stopped playing with them , and laughed when the piercers killed them in "their" sleep .(piercers were living Stalagtites as I recall that dropped on partys heads as they passed underneath .

I'm not a D&D player, but this brings back some memories. The first thing that popped in my head was the skit from a local sketch comedy group called the Dead Alewives. It was the hit of Gencon in 2000 when the game developer Volition (Red Faction and Saints Row) used it with their characters from their game Summoner in a video they called Summoner Geeks. You can see the video here or in the credits of the game.

Since I never got into D&D, I'll pass on the shirt, but thanks for the memories. I'll be sure to let some D&D addict friends know though.

But I foresee one problem...

Damage should be :
1d4+1 PLUS Intelligence Bonus Damage Modifier PLUS Level Modifier (Number of Additional Missiles per Level)

For every 2 caster levels beyond 1st, you gain an additional Missile - two at 3rd level, three at 5th, four at 7th, and the maximum of five missiles at 9th level or higher.

Also, there's the
Effect: 2 + Intelligence modifier force damage.
At Level 11 : 3 + Intelligence modifier force damage.
At Level 21 : 5 + Intelligence modifier force damage.

So, unless you're a level one Magic User, this shirt is somewhat incorrect. :-P

You're probably not a nerd at all, and I've got news for you.. most people who play D&D are not nerds. They're geeks and stoners.

In regards to the shirt.. I love it. I might have to buy it for my best friend who almost always plays the Wizard, or Sorcerer, and kicks ass at it. If the tee made mention of Phantasmal Killer, It would have literally been an instant-buy. This one I'll have to sleep on.

Love that D&D got a print, though. What does a guy have to roll to get more of these around here?

You're absolutely right. There was another version of this design earlier. This is what I get for hardly ever playing magic users. :)) At least the shirt is correct. ;)

I was completely expecting it to say "against the darkness!" somewhere on the shirt. Maybe it's implied since it's a black shirt. It is an awesome shirt though! No doubt about that. ^_^

Love the concept, not thrilled with the design with a black t-shirt, makes it look someone took a black T down to a print shop and had it done. Maybe if the colour of the shirt was better thought out, if it was, say, white...?
I try not to make a habit out of moaning about shirt colour, but I finally can see why it occasionally is an issue.

Genius! Instead of satirizing the more banal aspects of pop culture that I cannot relate to or emulating general business logos for nonexistent companies, Aaron has given us a bold, fresh retake on an original design straight from our humble, geeky subculture. You deserve the utmost props. I'm tired of all these over-designed, me-too shirts. Lampooning inferior design is STILL inferior design.

Been playing D&D for a long while now, and even married a guy (yeah a girl D&D player...wanna fight about it?) who wasn't into it...but now is. We play all the time now and it is quite fun :)

However this shirt makes me sad :( There are so many things that could have been added with this to make it 10x more awesome...dice, character sheet, the vague representation of an old school D&D book, heck throw in a skeleton or zombie!... Such a shame this is a miss.

Well, I'm not cool enough for tabletop, but in Baldur's Gate, Magic Missile was great! More missiles at higher levels, perfect way to get through Stoneskin layers fast, or have a chance of something getting by a dragon's magic resistance. Just sayin'.

This is aimed directly and squarely at those that remember, or played the '89 version of the game. Sure it's niche, even in the table-top gaming world, but I sincerely hope that it encourages more forays into table-top RPG inspired designs. All those things you want for your shirt are cool, but are not for this shirt, why not have a go at designing one? I'd love to see it! :D

Not a D&D fan. I can appreciate the larger type, but the small type is too small. I'm on the I-phone mobile version and can't read what it saids. U can't zoom on mobile versions. I would fix that hierarchy issue.

Just started up another DnD campaign with the friends and decided i HAD to get this shirt xD Never played 2nd edition (what the font is based off of) but i do remember in 3.5 Magic Missile being the first thing i ALWAYS cast on enemies. Great Tee-shirt design. First, of hopefully many more shirts, i will be getting of this site.

Don't let the fact that this design is deceptively simple fool you into thinking it took 5 minutes to make. Sure a regular designer like myself could copy his exact design in under 5 minutes, but Synaptyx came up with the idea, did his research, matched the font, layout and colors of the reference. If he managed all that in 5 minutes with all the tweaking even the simplest of designs requires, I would be very surprised.

I raise my Top Hat to Synaptyx for a spot on design, I just bought one. :)

Also in AZ and so wish this was available in a different color. Though I'm just tired of black shirts. A navy shirt with this design would be awesome, but it wouldn't really help with the heat. As much as I want this shirt, think I'm passing because of the color.

Tell us a bit about this design.

It's a take on the AD&D 2nd Edition logo from back in the day. The design is a nod to all those Mages who's first reaction in any given situation is to cast Magic Missile. It's a reflex action. 1d4+1 points of damage seemed pitiful, but it saved you from the Kobolds!

Okay I copied this: Fife is a council area and former county of Scotland. It is situated between the Firth of Tay and the Firth of Forth, with inland boundaries to Perth and Kinross and Clackmannanshire. It was originally one of the Pictish kingdoms, known as Fib, and is still commonly known as the Kingdom of Fife within Scotland.

My kids sense of humour. The RBC. Gadgets and tech. Trooping with the 501st. All the usual Geeky/Nerdy likes loves and pursuits. Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. :)

What kind of art did you make as a kid?

Lots and lots of drawings of spaceships, robots, monsters; a sci-fi addict from an early age.

What is your favorite thing about magic?

It exists everywhere you look.

Stormtroopers vs. browncoats: which would win the battle?

The Stormtroopers would win the battle by sheer force of numbers, but the Browncoats would be the big damn heroes at the end of the day. You're not a Browncoat unless you're the underdog.

Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.

My favourite shirt is 'Elliot's New Friend' by Kevin Ross at Go Ape shirts. http://goape.storenvy.com/products/72587-elliot-s-new-friend This was the first mashup shirt that blew me away and I had to own it. I still get stopped in the street wearing this and people marvel at the awesomeness. Kudos, Kevin Ross!

Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.

I’m not a huge gamer, I am a reader and a movie watcher. They're both different experiences, so would never choose one over the other as better, it just depends on the mood you're in at the time. Favourite book so far? Augh, how can I pick just one!? Okay, I tell you what, most re-read book so far: Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Favourite movie. Blade Runner. No question there. Star Wars/The Empire Strikes Back (both un-altered) are a close second and I count them as one unit (Never mention Jedi). Lord of the Rings, third. Sorry, this is as short an answer as you're getting here.

Pop culture, Internet memes, fever dreams, the fact that doing this is my only regular income right now!
