Actually, it's meant to look like a stylized Republic insignia. But I see what you mean. There is a grace in the shield of the Rahl design, though. ;)

I agree with the Mr. Wizard comments, absolutely. He was part of the design, but just didn't work within the concept - he wasn't as recognizable as the others. I'd like to think, though, that his spirit watches over the others, just out of sight. ;)

My friend and I would also like to age ourselves by being bummed Mr. Wizard is not on this shirt. Totally should have had Kari's spot.

Also, if we had to have female balance on this shirt I woulda gone with a Dr. Kiki or go old school and have Marie Curie on that sucker. And yes 11 years of This Week In Science makes Dr. Kiri awesome enough to go on a shirt as the token female.

To the white tee haters: I have spilt 6(i've counted) things on my Long Live Charlie Pace shirt that is white. I put in in the wash that night and guess what... I got a compliment on how white it is. Stop being so t shirt racist.

Also, Bradleysmp is my new favorite artist because he has a Sword of Truth side art. The world would be a better place with more SoT shirts.

I love this shirt. If I had $12 I would buy it up quick. HOWEVER, my heart did a little jig and if that Sword of Truth side art is somewhere as a poster or a shirt I will buy that and go into debt. I DON'T CARE.

If this were a strictly Mythbusters shirt, I would buy it.

But there is some confusion and disappointment in giving Kari her own spot and making Jamie and Adam share a spot. .

Also, great sadness for all the scientists that should have been included but were not.
I understand it would have been impossible to include them all, but really, giving Kari her own spot, really? Sadly, I know that a lot of these shirts will be sold because Kari is hot and with most not even knowing who Mr. Wizard, Bill Nye, or Beakman are, I doubt the images of Telsa, Curie, or even Edison would be recognizable by the masses.

Interesting concept, but not enough for me to purchase.

Yo, I'm freaking serious on this. You NEED to get that Rahl tee printed IMMEDIATELY! Especially with The Omen Machine having just been released (about a quarter of the way through, I can't put it down...) and with more books apparently coming. I would have liked to see the word Truth on the sword, but still it's awesome as is.

Also would LOVE to see one that is very similar, but it says D'Hara and "Steel against Steel" instead. Though the grace would have to be replaced by something else.

And I second my design idea that I suggested in this month's suggestion box thread...if someone would be awesome enough to create a Ja'La dh Jin tournament Tee, like an advertisement, black tee with red lettering, and the design being based around the disguising red lines that Richard put on his face in Confessor...I'd buy 30...THIRTY.

Yeah, I know what my kids' science teachers are getting for Christmas. :) I LOVE all the sideart shirts. I think the "1" is my favorite but would buy any of them.

Teefury, how about letting the artists choose the shirt color as well? Seems like it would be a better fit since their entire concept could be better realized.

A) There's no way he could have put every scientist on the shirt.

B) I see a theme of TV personalities and people who were on the tube bringing the word of science to the masses.

C) It's an awesome design, and the choice of white is probably for the faces. Plus from a designerly standpoint, White is probably the only choice with the blue, brown, orange, and gray. Complimentary color scheme with black and white? Perfect!

I'm buying one, and I'm going to wait and see if my son wakes up to see if he wants one, too. ^_^

Tell us a bit about this design.

This is a tribute to the brave few who attempt to educate the masses of attention-deficit kids out there by being simultaneously entertaining. Being a teacher myself, I’ll tell you that it’s a tough task. I have, however, had neither the luxuries of daily explosions nor grown men in rat suits at my disposal in the classroom.

Where are you from?

I was born in Michigan, but have lived the vast majority of my life in the humidity-sodden sauna that the Spanish called Florida. “Feast of Flowers?” More like “Feast for Mosquitos.”

What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?

That I’m a Language Arts teacher whose previous career happened to be in graphic design. Also, because of my literary background, I’m aware of the irony inherent in my creation of a science-themed design. Besides, I haven’t come up with a good Dickens-centric shirt idea just yet.

What do you absolutely not want them to find out?

That this shirt is a thinly-veiled attempt to work Kari Byron into a design. But they probably knew that.

Name a few of your favorite things.

Pad Thai. Winter. Drunk Hulk. David Tennant’s Hamlet. A double IPA in my Dock Street Brewery glass. Marian Call’s Vanilla in sound-blocking headphones. The World Showcase at Epcot. Air conditioning. Delivering my Joseph Campbell lecture.

What kind of art did you make as a kid?

I drew superhero logos. Was obsessed with them, in fact. I also remember entering, in sixth grade, a local newspaper’s art contest entitled “Florida’s Future.” I drew a picture of the state with a nuclear missile headed towards it, which inexplicably won. I suppose that the editors thought I represented a generation of kids who feared the Cold War’s mutually-ensured destruction, but I just thought that working Lake Okechobee into the surprised “O” of the state’s mouth was hilarious.

What is your favorite thing about Mythbusters?

I enjoy watching them because they have such a good rapport with one another on camera. These are people who seem to genuinely have a good time working together, and I think that viewers pick up on that.

Aliens vs. time travelers: which would win the battle?

Well, James Cameron wins, of course.

Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.

I have an authentic Detroit Tigers jersey that my wife gave me as a wedding present. I love it so much that I almost never wear it.

Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.

Reading, without a doubt – the other two mediums couldn’t exist without it. My favorite title, now…I think that as far as contemporary fiction goes, Mark Danielewski’s House of Leaves is a work I keep coming back to, and Neil Gaiman’s American Gods is right up there as well. The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. A Confederacy of Dunces. The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. Okay, shutting up now.

What inspires your work?

I try to create shirts that I want to wear. It’s really just that simple. If I’m lucky, then people out there will share my tastes and enjoy my designs. Somewhat cliché, perhaps, but there it is.

Any shout outs?

My loving, beautiful, capable wife, who has been unswervingly supportive of my passions for the humanities and teaching for almost fifteen years. Friends and family in North Carolina and Ohio, in Washington and Texas, and right here in Florida. My alumni from PHUHS’s International Baccalaureate program, who should take a break from changing the world long enough to buy a shirt or three.
