I really love firefly, and the quote with the gun is really cool. However, I am getting really tired of the banner with the sailor font. It looks just like my Lie To Me shirt. It looks really cool and both, but can't we come up with some other cool way to have text on the shirts?

Would love to see The Clockwork Orange and Back to the Future arts get printed - especially the latter since it doesn't have the banner which I am kind of sick of. Like someone else said - maybe it's time to find a new way of adding text?

Also, I get that Firefly = browncoats, but I would love to see a different color.

For the record, as best I can tell, the last Firefly TF was offered June 22. Last Jossverse tee (Dr. Horrible) was available August 5.

Not-a-buy for me. (Attended three CSTS screenings this year, wore a different Jossverse purchased-from-TF tee to each one.) BTW, why is there an the artist "signature" on the corner?

I applaud nakedderby for having a distinct recognizable style, but I've got to join the camp of people who don't love this exact same banner and exact same font on all of the designs. It's the reason I didn't get "Han Shot First" and the reason I don't plan to get this one.

And I really dislike the signature at the bottom, too. Hope that doesn't end up turning into a trend.

It's supposed to be the Independents' logo as seen in the Battle of Serenity, but most of it is hidden by Mal's gun.

I'm in full agreement. I have the Shaun of the Dead one and I don't want a repeat of the tattoo banner on more shirts.I'll have to think about this one. If I do buy it I certainly wouldn't buy the Clockwork Orange one in the future, even though it is nice (save the banner)

It's a cool design, even if you don't know anything about Firefly and Serenity. But I agree with all the comments here about the overuse of the standard tattoo font in a banner. Boring, especially when 2 of the 3 designs on the side use the same thing.

completely agree, i love this shirt but i am afraid i dont look good in brown so yet again another great firefly reference tee has slipped through the cracks.

I love these type of designs. My first shirt of this site was the "Han Shot First" design by the same designer. This shirt reminds me a lot of the one I own. And Nakedderby, don't worry about it, I only found out about Firefly two summers ago, and like you I fell in love with the show. May the crew of Serenity live on in the fans.

I think most of the naysayers and people who hate the banner thing you're doing would all agree that you are one of the better designers on here. Your skill as far as fleshing an idea out is up there with the best on here. The thing I'd stress most about your designs is to find a different tool to use as a narrative without the same ol' same ol' that's been seen on here so many times.

Just saying that because my comment last night may have seemed harsh. The tattoo thing just makes all of your shirts look exactly the same. If I have one... why would I ever buy another? The Shaun of the Dead, as well as this one BOTH would have been instant buys with me had I not already owned the Han Shot First. Just sayin'.... I know I'm not the only one who probably will never buy a shirt that looks almost identical to one that I already wear.... a lot.

You're an incredible artist. One of the better ones on this site... but the tattoo style/banner thing is keeping you from being in that top tier. Show some creativity and originality and come up with a new narrative for your designs and I bet your sales really spike next print.

Yes, in fact, I do read the comments, sometimes against my better judgement ;)... I can appreciate your opinion and comments in regards to my designs. Also, thank you for your compliments and words of praise. I do appreciate it!

While I can go through each of your points and show you why I may agree or disagree with you, I'll simply say that everyone is free to have an opinion, and not everyone will like every single design. What I will say is that my designs sell a good amount of shirts. For every person who states they can't stand my designs, there are many more people who enjoy them, and purchase one (or more) of them.

I do have a few things in the works that will be a step away from the "Tattoo" thing, providing that Jimmy and the other folks at Teefury dig it and decide to put it on a shirt. I may come back to the tattoo theme in the future, should I come up with an idea that I think would work well in that style.

Once again, thanks for your criticisms, compliments and kind words. I hope at some point I'll have another design that you'll dig, and want it enough to wear proudly.

...and before I forget, a very big thanks to everyone who picked up a shirt yesterday. I truly appreciate your support!

Hi Scott,

First of all i love all of your t-shirts. I wear my aim to misbehave one proudly. I wish i had seen the Han shot first one.. but alas. My question for you is : Would you be willing to give us the rights to have your shirt worn by one of our characters in our web series? It was kind of uncanny how perfectly timed your shirt was. Our writers had written that scene with one of our female leads wearing a firefly shirt saying just that.. about 2 weeks before yours was released. So naturally we all bought it :) We would love to showcase your shirt on our show but completely understand if you would prefer we didnt!

I recently was introduced to the genius that is the "Firefly" television series, and the feature length "Serenity" film, and I fell in love with every thing about it. The end result is this design.

Leave it to me to discover a brilliant TV show about 10 years too late. Thank goodness for dvd box sets...

Describe the strangest shirt you own.

Hmmmm, tough one. I think it would have to be a t-shirt that I picked up at an independent record store in Silver Lake, CA called "Vacation". When I was in L.A. last year, I was picking up as many t-shirts that I could at whatever cool places were selling shirts that promoted their business. I really liked the color and typeface of the logo, as well as the material of the shirt. The shirt literally just says "Vacation" on it, as if I was advertising to the world that I was, in fact, on vacation. I wore it the other day, and a neighbor looked at me and said "How was your vacation?" I told him that I didn't go anywhere and he looked at me like I was a dick...

What would be your dream project to work on?

To work on something like a shirt design or tour poster for someone that I admire, like Tom Waits or Elvis Costello...

To Rachel and Finn, my biggest fans. Also, a great big "Welcome to the World" goes out to Spencer C., born last month to very dear friends. Uncle "Boodie" looks forward to hanging out with you...
