Tell us about this design.
Mudder's Milk is the, uh, beverage of choice in Canton. It's not exactly delicious, though. I am not really a fan of Miller Lite (haha), so I figured it would make a good parody! Plus, it's definitely a more subtle nerd shirt--so if you like to keep your nerdiness low-key, this would be a great shirt for you. :)
Where are you from?
Missouri, USA.
Which art style would you most like to learn?
Oh, Jeez. I would actually LOVE to tattoo and learn how to do those amazingly detailed oriental style clouds and dragons and stuff like that. Traditional work like that is pretty wicked, but it's just not something I'm very good at.
If you had a time machine, which era would you visit first?
I would go forward about 50 or 100 years in the future. It would make my life to get a glimpse of how far technology has improved in that period of time.
What goal do you most aspire towards?
I just started doing art full-time (I quit my job at a pizza place! Hell yeah!). My biggest goal now is to, uh, keep doing art full-time forever. Aside from that, I want to travel everywhere and then move to Portland, Oregon.
If you could stop any t-shirt trend in its tracks, which would you end? What trend would you like to see started?
Really, there's not a trend going on right now that I would stop. I get kind of tired of all the Doctor Who shirts I see everywhere, but I effing love Doctor Who, so I understand why they sell so well. The only type of shirts I HATE are shirts with designs that don't really flow with the shape of the body.
I'd love to see more nostalgic tees referencing 80s movies. Can't help it--they're the best! :)
Would you rather become an X-Men character or fly with the Firefly crew?
Firefly all the way. Don't get me wrong, super powers would be baller, but I have an immense love for Firefly. And I would do terrible things to Captain Mal or Wash. Well, if Inara and Zoe didn't kill me.
Aperture Science vs. Carl Sagan: which would win the battle?
Carl Sagan! Actually, I'd kill to see a Glados / Carl Sagan all-out battle. The dialogue would have to be terribly witty. In the end, I think that even Glados would have to bow to the superior power of Carl Sagan's brain.
Describe the first shirt you ever designed.
The first shirt I ever designed was "Peach Nouveau," which was actually on Teefury back in February! It was Princess Peach from Mario in the nouveau style, ala Alphonse Mucha.
What has been your most inspiring art experience?
Haha, probably going to Portland. Just being around all that art was amazing! There really isn't anything else like that around here in the middle of Missouri.
