Tell us about this design.
I'm a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki's work, I own all of his films. This is my tribute to one of his most well-known and well-loved films, "My Neighbor Totoro".
Where are you from?
Livermore, California
How did you get started designing t-shirts?
I got Adobe Illustrator in February, and wanted to teach it to myself. I've always loved cool t-shirts, so designing t-shirts seemed like a fun challenge.
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
If you really love designing, don't give up. Work hard and create what you'd like to see. If others like it, that's just a bonus.
What would be your dream job?
I'd love to be a director - movies have always been important to me. It would be great to be able to direct anything I wanted. And although I have no animation experience, Pixar seems like a pretty great place to work.
What is your favorite thing about traveling?
I don't have the opportunity to travel very much. But when I do, I really appreciate it. I always travel by car, which forces you to really slow down and look around. I like stopping at little gas stations in the middle of nowhere and seeing what sort of unusual snacks and drinks they have. And staying in a hotel is fun.
What would your ideal house be like?
It'd be hard for me to choose, since I'm enthusiastic about all different styles of architecture. I love old houses, but I'd have to say my ideal house would be modern and angular and austere. Maybe something in Tokyo!
Good vs. evil: which would win the battle?
Good! I've played enough Zelda games to know that Link always wins.
What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
Movies were, and still are, my favorite. A few of my childhood favorites were "The Goonies", Disney's "Peter Pan", and the "Indiana Jones" series. And "Terminator 2: Judgement Day," naturally.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
I spend a lot of time over on Mega64.com. Mega64's videos are usually pretty hilarious, and the Mega64ums are filled with great guys & girls. I also spend way too much time on Youtube. Check out these videos: "Indian Thriller", "wise words from the saad", "hotcheeto rap", "the story of mctronalds", and "Dilbert 2".
