The only problem with this design is that there is no mention of pizza (that we can tell) and I clearly remember a lot of pizza in TMNT.

I love the turtles, but this one just doesn't seem as neat as the rest of his designs as far as "shape of the character:lettering".

I'm not even a big fan of Megaman, but I'd instabuy the Megaman one just because it looks so smuuuuuurf good!! After that one my second choice would be Mario :)

Too much blue for me, unfortunately. Would have made an exception if it was Donatello, of course. I also feel as if the design is too busy for this style and it doesn't produce as clean of a silhouette as we're seeing in the Megaman and Mario designs. The Mario design would be an instabuy from me just for the classic silhouette and colors.

Superman might make a good future choice just for his iconic color scheme.

your conan, mario, and megaman designs are awesome. the main reason is because you used their actual colors in the design. why is your ninja turtle grey? would have looked 10x better with light green skin / dark green shell. would have probably bought it then too.

I believe all the stuff about pizza was made up for the cartoon series (and the subsequent movies) but never featured in the original comics. If this is so, the lack of a pizza reference is understandable

Your design is fantastic! The typography art is so much fresher and pleasing to the eye rather than the typical regurgitated comic art.

I completely agree about not having to be slapped in the face that it is the Ninja Turtles. The more subtle and artistic the better! I bought both an L and XL just to make sure I got the right size. Well done good sir!

Congrats to you on an epic fail of a comment. Does the amount of praise being offered here make you rethink that one? I already thought it was a great shirt but some of the nitpickers really make me want to defend it. Great colors, and I like that it takes a moment to sink in, that's the point of it not being a picture. And there was a time when honor (included) was more important to the turtles than pizza (not). Lastly, for all the sideart-obsessed, these designs are out there, will you go find and buy them? No, because you don't really want them, you want to complain.

Man, it took me a minute to get it from what the words were about, only then did I see the design. Pretty cool, on the fence about getting it.

I hope the Mega Man design is considered in the future.

Oh jesus. Okay now I see. Being colorblind really screwed this up. It just looked like random words in some indiscernible shape...then I realized that it's a Turtle! Leonardo I think. It was sort of an accident I even figured it out. It looked like a car at first. The Mega Man is AMAZING though!

Oh, man, it must smurf not seeing colors, but yeah, it's Leonardo. :)

And Megaman is done very well. I want that shirt more than this one. (I bought this one, though.)

Tell us a bit about this design.

My typographic designs were inspired by 70s psychedelic poster art that were designed for concerts and shows. Google image "70s psychedelic poster art" or specific artists like "Wes Wilson" to get results that made me want to get into similar art. I guess my education of poster art began with my roommate freshman year of college who introduced me to stencil graffiti art like Shepard Fairey, and then began to show me books collecting flyers and posters from rock venues from as early as the 70s.

So when I began to experiment with typographic art, I thought about using a similar method to create iconic figures that I either enjoy, grew up with, or identify myself with. Being born in the 80s, I knew I had to draw at least one of these folks.

I'm currently residing in Brooklyn, NY

What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?

I'm a busy kinda guy. I'm getting a novel published. I'm working on two (http://www.punksandnerds.com) comics (http://www.stubblecomics.com). I've produced a Rock Opera (http://www.brucemanhero.com). I'm going to try and pilot a podcast and radio drama. If anyone has advice on when to take a breather... Please tell me!

What do you absolutely not want them to find out?

When I was 14 I made a highly popular Pokemon website called... Wait I've said too much!

Name a few of your favorite things.

I enjoy to travel. I love to read. I'm a big poker fan, and I seem to have trouble playing my entire video game library. I listen to a lot of podcasts while I work, music is universally loved, and... Food that's either fancy schmancy, or fatty and greasy.

I just like to have fun.

What kind of art did you make as a kid?

Started with turtles of the ninja variety, branched off to do Sonic the Hedgehog, which eventually became Calvin and Hobbes rip offs, and then by 7th/8th grade I was drawing my own cartoony things.

What is your favorite thing about turtles?

How well they get along with giant talking rats. How they can remain teenagers for decades.

Science vs. alchemy: which would win the battle?

Science might win the battle, but my concern is if they'd survive the war.

Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.

I enjoy shirts that I can identify with, but are also aesthetically pleasing to look at. So one of my favorite shirts has to be one called "Pipe Vault" (grey color shirt) that Fangamer.net sells. Because, if you really look at it, you can tell it's based off of Super Mario Bros. But it's subtle enough for it to simply be an attractive graphic shirt that just looks good on a person without the shirt shouting, "LOOK! MARIO! YAY!"

Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.

That's... That's not fair. I get equal entertainment in those mediums, just in different ways.

I have no real favorite, since I'm always being introduced to something new to me all the time.

What inspires your work?

What often inspires my work is what I read, what I experience, and what I am passionate about.
