Since it's suppose to be an anti facebook tee, shouldn't it like be giving the finger instead of that odd thumb up, but yeah the mention of FB makes me break out in hives, so this shirt is a no go....
justinjones said: wow! it seems everyone is missing the whole point of it being "red", excellent design, one of the more intelligent tees i have ever seen on here...
Agreed! They also seem to think it means "I like FB".
nice design and a realy clever comment on the creepy hegemony of facebook but would i buy a facebook related t shirt even if it was an insulting one? hmm nah sorry :/
i'm literally lol'ing over the sheer irony involved with this shirt in the sense that it seems like those who are anti-facebook want nothing to do with it despite the fact that it was made with their sentiment in mind and that it seems like the buyers of this shirt will be those who do in fact actually like facebook and simply want it for the reference to facebook, not actually realizing it's actually countering the very thing they like. i think this shirt was a misstep on the artist's part and that if you are going to do an anti-shirt it should peddle to those who really want to display their hatred for that which they oppose, or maybe use different imagery? and for those who think it should be blue, i dont know if the shirt wouldve commanded the very iconic image it was trying to reference if it was blue, but you're more than welcome to purchase the shirt and color it blue with your crayons if you see fit, although that might produce purple which is the by product of those two colors mixed
I really like this shirt, but I'm flat broke and sending to NZ is rather a pain. Good work and a good comparision. I like the red I don't understand why it should be blue?
Duckyquack said: I really like this shirt, but I'm flat broke and sending to NZ is rather a pain. Good work and a good comparision. I like the red I don't understand why it should be blue?
Blue because it's the colour of FB but, obviously, it doesn't work with the design.
I find getting shipped to NZ to be pretty painless. Takes ages for TeeFury to ship but once it has it gets here in about 5 days on the slowest shipping option. I was very pleased.
I wanted to buy this at first because i like facebook, but then read comments and realized the true meaning of the shirt. It made me question why i liked facebook? i feel obligated to it, and thats mega lame. This tee changed my perspective. Well done man great tee
Dear tee fury,

Thank you. And thanks to all other commenters and buyers. Feels like more tees will be coming from my desktop soon.
The logo could be in black and white so that everyone could understand the relation with the flag of the teddybears (like the flag in the movie "Equilibrium"). Now it is more like some normal far east country's flag because of the stripes.
Nice concept! Although given the misunderstandings here on the site, I doubt many people in real life get it. Though it's easy enough to explain of course.
But it's cool and it looks great!

Kids...kids....kids.....please stop commenting on how this would look better in blue.
It is red for a particular reason. If it was any other colour the entire meaning of the design would change.
skynet said: The logo could be in black and white so that everyone could understand the relation with the flag of the teddybears (like the flag in the movie "Equilibrium"). Now it is more like some normal far east country's flag because of the stripes.
No offense!
This is meant to look like stereotypical Russian propaganda imagery (so eastern country flag is right). If by the first part you thought it should be black and white so it looks like a swastik, then no sorry that is off on the completely wrong track.
I don't get how people come to this page (which I do admit, I do) on a regular basis, but if they don't understand the design right away, they comment on how they don't get it rather than bother to read the explanation on the side. If you DID read the side text, and STILL don't understand, then you shouldn't comment and make yourself look stupid.
kdjslvgds said: Someone please get these people to look up the Communist Fist.
Exactly! The Constructivism art movement that came out of the Russian revolution in the early 20th century. Using geometric shapes to portray a message, as drawn by Georgii and Vladimir Stenberg. It influenced everything from the German art movement known as Bauhaus to album artwork from 80s bands Bronski Beat and The Communards to the look of the Playstation game series WipeOut.
Tell us a bit about this design.
The constructivist approach to the Like 'movement' is obviously a cynical expression of the culture dictated by Facebook.
If you simply read about the artist, you would realize that it's not a pro-facebook shirt.
I love the design and think it's very clever (especially given that I don't do FB) but the number of people on this site who don't get it tell me that if I buy it people will think that I actually do like FB and that would be bad.
The shirt is red like communism is "red," like "like" and Facebook are being equated with forms of communism. Now that I've spelled all the cleverness straight out of the design, can we please move on?
mattygeez said: I don't get how people come to this page (which I do admit, I do) on a regular basis, but if they don't understand the design right away, they comment on how they don't get it rather than bother to read the explanation on the side. Indeed, it boggles me how many people are not reading the author's description or perhaps the dozen or so comments explaining the design.
There may be 700 million people via FB, but that doesn't mean everyone likes it or cares for it. I deleted my account a year ago and I haven't missed it since.
lol awesome. yeah, a lot of people seem to be missing the point. the very first image that came to my mind was that of communist russia or red faction. this is brilliant.
This is the perfect buy for people who do "Not Like" facebook. Propaganda designs win me over every time... that sounds sketchy, but you get what I am saying.
Tell us a bit about this design.
The constructivist approach to the Like 'movement' is obviously a cynical expression of the culture dictated by Facebook.
Hilarious that nobody wants the shirt because they don't like facebook when that is exactly why you should buy this shirt!
It's sad when it's proven that this world is going to shh because nobody cares to learn anymore.

How narcissistic must one be to assume their own ignorance reveals some kind of flaw in the design...
How is he in any way ignorant? He never included himself in the statement he made about people not getting the design. It seems to me like he knows what message the design is supposed to convey, it just isn't conveyed as well as it could be...
Why don't you people just explain it to the ones that don't understand it, instead of making snooty comments. I may be wrong, but I interpret the design as socialism satire.
Considering how many people have to be told what the shirt means, it seems like this design sort of fails. Besides, red isn't the color of hate, it's the color of rage. Just ask Atrocitus.
I can't tell if people not getting it is a good thing or a bad thing. On the one hand I could use it to snag unsuspecting passers-by into political discussions (one of my favorite pasttimes), but on the other hand they may simply misinterpret it in a plethora of ways. So in my redneck, country-ass town I become known as the local Commie sympathizer because some halfwit inreeder can't follow the ideas far enough to get the joke... It's a tough decision.
Wonderful, simplistic design with a very smart message. Well executed . . . but unfortunately misunderstood by the masses. I long for internet people to stop and think once in a while before hopping onto forums and saying "i don't get it" . . . really? that's all you've got to contribute?
so buying this one just cuz its obscure and not understood by most people, once again i say brilliant, look what you have done to these commenters, WELL DONE
is a tough decision. great idea but i wouldn't want the masses interpreting that i'm some super facebook turd, as i see now would be very possible. although it might start a few fights, maybe i should consider it further.
Some of these comments make me worry for America's youth- and I'm part of it. I understood the meaning of the shirt immediately, and it was confirmed when I read the designer's side text. If you don't understand, ask. That's how we learn and grow. But don’t allow yourself to be in a state of ignorance.
/moralistic rant.
Oh, and awesome design. I agree with the other commenters. It's nice to see a "smart" shirt on here.
Is hating facebook the new hipster trend? I'm not referring to the shirt but to the comments, because they don't like the shirt because they don't like Facebook, but then they obviously don't get the meaning of the shirt. smuuuuuurf hipsters.
justinjones said: wow! it seems everyone is missing the whole point of it being "red", excellent design, one of the more intelligent tees i have ever seen on here...
You're not kidding! clearly people do not read the side descriptions.
Hahahaha...this is really clever, but i do hope they bring out a good harry potter one before the movie premiere :) i missed out on the last 'team gryffindor' one which im really gutted about :(
people who see this as a facebook shirt vs being a statement ABOUT facebook are probably just too young and too far removed from the relevance of the former soviet union. they honestly see facebook when they see this design because, on their scale of relevancy, facebook is far more heavily weighted than the former soviet union. people a little older still remember what it means and so hold more weight on that side of their scale of relevancy. they see it as a statement ABOUT facebook, not a facebook shirt. it's just an age thing.
Ummm...is everyone missing the fact that this is a shirt for Japan? Its red and behind the hand is one of the Japanese flags. So it means you "like" Japan.
geekygirluk said: I love the design and think it's very clever (especially given that I don't do FB) but the number of people on this site who don't get it tell me that if I buy it people will think that I actually do like FB and that would be bad.
Actually I think people not getting it is part of why this shirt is so awesome. When people look at it and think "Facebook shirt! Facebook is brilliant" it's funny and when people look at it and think "Ugh, Facebook shirt. I hate Facebook" it's simply hilarious. Personally I don't really like or dislike Facebook but I'm happy to wear this shirt and be mistaken for someone who loves it because that just makes the joke funnier
not for me, but i love the idea. it cracks me up how there are so many comments by people who really don't get what this shirt means...gotta love people who don't get historical references.
One has got to imagine that if he actually used the blue color he'd set himself up for possible lawsuit- or at least some trouble.. I also like it because it reminds me of a play on all the socialism/communism bs being swatted about in politics.Perhaps it is the font and color scheme.
i can't believe i missed this D': nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
i love the concept of it. very clever ;)
