Tell us a bit about this design.
I've always loved reading Calvin and Hobbes and thought it would be fun to design a shirt incorporating Calvinball. The best way to describe Calvinball is that it is very much like Quantum Physics, if you think you understand what it is you don't understand it at all.
Where are you from?
I'm from Austin, Texas home of the Alamo Drafthouse (the best movie theater in the world where you can drink beers, eat half way decent food and watch the best movies around without stupid Coke commercials beforehand) and SXSW. I currently abide in Georgetown (just a few miles north of Austin).
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I love designing t shirts and have a whole bunch of other ideas in the works so look out for other designs on thisisjoew.com and redbubble.com/people/thisisjoew.

What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
When I got married I made a deal with my wife. I had to choose either Star Wars or the Godfather series to show to my wife who had seen neither. I chose The Godfather (only because she's an awesome cook and she promised to do a themed dinner for either, I can't imagined a SW themed dinner, yuck). So now I am forever banned from mentioning SW ever again, but that doesn't stop me from exposing Han Solo to my future children. :) I know that sounds wrong.
Name a few of your favorite things.
The Matrix (despite Keanu) but not II or III, Dimitri Martin, Arrested Development, and Alphonse Mucha
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
As a kid I remember watching Commander Mark (Host of PBS's Secret City) reminding me to "Draw, Draw, Draw, 30 minutes a day!" I can remember drawing a lot of comic book characters. Wolverine was my favorite!
What is your favorite thing about Calvin and Hobbes?
Calvin's morbid sense of humor with snowmen.
Playing sports vs. watching sports: which would win the battle?
Neither. Making fun of people who take sports too seriously wins the battle every time!
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
I have a shirt that says, "The other white meat." With a picture of a unicorn with a fork stuck in it. I have a sick sense of humor.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
Watching B movies. Mystery Science Theater 3000!
What inspires your work?
Saul Bass the greatest modern designer of the 20th century. I also love just browsing gigposters.com.
