Where are you from?
Over there, to the left from back aways.
Which art style would you most like to learn?
I'd love to ape the comic book illustrator, Mignola. He's the coolest. I just got back from a comic book convention which had some of his original work for sale. I think one page was a few hundred dollars. Very cool stuff. I touched it and said to myself, yeah! I touched artwork by Mignola!
If you had a time machine, which era would you visit first?
Oo, time machines! I would cruise the timelines forward into the future, to watch and witness either the end of civilization or an exodus to the stars. Then once the planet fully recovered, I'd stop the machine in a time among the forested ruins of skyscrapers. Then I'd build a log cabin and live the typical quiet post-apocalyptic life.
What goal do you most aspire towards?
Real self sufficiency with a garden and fish stock.
If you could stop any t-shirt trend in its tracks, which would you end? What trend would you like to see started?
I wouldn't stop any tee trend. Let them blaze like wildfire. Let the world create.
New trends I like to see... I'd love to see super soft optic fiber tshirts that glow, flash and ripple. The technology is actually here, but just not so soft.
Would you rather travel through time or space? Where to?
Dang. Good question. It's either travel the ends of the universe in the here and now, or stay in one place and go backwards or forwards. I'd have to go with Time Travel. It has more immediate perks, like winning lotteries and buying up gold.
Owls vs. eagles: which would win the battle?
Neither, because they wouldn't be fighting unless one of them was very very hungry.
Describe the first shirt you ever designed.
Wow, first shirt... First shirt ever designed was actually a mashup, funny enough. It was Robby the Robot seating on a flying horse (no wings, just soaring) and hoisting a magical sword in the air. No wait, it wasn't the first. The first was my bubble-head Spock design, with a different background. The robo was the second. hah. Funny old shirts.
What has been your most inspiring art experience?
My most inspiring art experience was actually sculpting. I really enjoyed that, doing figures and crazy stuff, but it didn't pay the bills. Er, at all... I met a t-shirt printer once who said selling t-shirts is like selling crack. I'd say he was about right.
