Tell us about this design.
It's tough to compete in fighting tournaments. There's always a risk of breaking an important bone, having your spine ripped out, or having your arms pulled off before your opponent punts your head off like a soccer ball. It's even more intimidating when the fate of Earthrealm hangs in the balance. The God of Thunder definitely needs all the help -- and propaganda -- he can get!
Where are you from?
Little Rock, Arkansas, Earthrealm.
How did you get started designing t-shirts?
I started in high school: I did shirt designs for our homecoming and prom events. I tried unsuccessfully at other t-shirt sites, and just kept practicing till I got the hang of it.
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
Get your ideas down as fast as possible and have a small brain trust of like-minded cronies to give you feedback. You may think that your design and idea are good -- which they quite possibly are -- but there's just no niche for it. Researching trends is good, too. Oh, and stay in school.
What would be your dream job?
Being an Imagineer / Audiologist / Ninja Tour Guide.
What is your favorite thing about ninjas?
To quote Dr. Robert Hamburger: "[Ninjas] are so crazy and awesome that they flip out ALL the time... ninjas are fast, smooth, cool, strong, powerful, and sweet."
What would your ideal house be like?
The mansion in "Clue."
Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter: which would win the battle?
That's tough, but I'd have to go with MK. They have REAL NINJAS, and that's a fact.
What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
I grew up with all three, but cartoons definitely came first. "Transformers" was a huge influence on me growing up... Optimus Prime was like a second dad to me, but one that could turn into a truck.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
John Struan's "Super Punch" blog is the greatest. Others worth bookmarking are Topless Robot, Fashionably Geek, RedBubble, and Cracked.
Any shout outs?
My family, friends, and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Class of 2011... congrats, we made it, and thanks for years of endless support. Lord Raiden smiles upon thee!
