Teefury

It's basically supposed to invoke the image of a Public Service Announcement poster you might imagine donning the inside of some Cold War-era classroom to tell the kiddies what to do in the event of Soviet-induced nuclear Armageddon . . . I just can't help but think that if dinosaurs had some similarly well-planned procedures in place for asteroids and comets that maybe there might be more of them left around to tell the tale.

I hail from the bustling micropolis of Ann Arbor in the grand and wonderful state of Michigan.  But when I'm abroad I just tell people I'm from Detroit.  Y'know, so they think I'm bad and stuff.  

The one crappy thing about Michigan?  The damned glaciers scraped away pretty much all of our rocks that might have had any dinosaurs hidden in them.  But they also gave us unimaginably giant lakes, so I can't really complain.

I think the first tee I ever designed was probably for my high school cross country team.  From a design perspective it was pure rubbish, but it had a message that resonated with us as a group and we took pride in it.  I took notice at the power of tee design in terms of the affection people can have for wearing a design that means something to them.  Tees are one of the easiest and most immediate ways to outwardly express something about your personality and interests.  For example, anyone that sees a "Duck'n'Cover" tee will instantly recognize that the wearer is passionate about mass-extinction jokes and being awesome.

Never coast.  You've always got to keep improving, or at least trying to improve.  In a couple years you'll realize how crappy everything is that you made a couple years ago.  It's terrible and it never stops being true.

Also, be nice.  Also, get off'a my lawn.

Taste-tester at a combined ice-cream parlor / adventure snorkel shop.  Probably one on a big dock or pier.  They have those, right?

Probably that they're the only living members of the Theropoda suborder, which, of course, includes most of the coolest dinosaurs.  Like Saurophaganax.  Beyond that, I like that some of them are pretty colors or make pretty sounds.  There's a pair of bluebirds that live outside my house and I have become a big fan.  I'm really invested in them at this point.  If a hawk got them I would be so sad.  But then, hawks are super cool in their own right, and they can't help that---in general---birds are some of the tastiest animals.  It's the circle of Bird.

A big ol' trawler-turned-houseboat.  Either that or a radically tricked-out RV.  But, y'know, with a heavy Arts and Crafts influence, naturally.

I don't know if this qualifies as a "classic," but my first car was a 1976 Suburban and if it didn't take a whole Gulf state to keep the thing running it would have been perfect.

I didn't get into comics until well after cartoons had thoroughly dominated my childhood.  Stuff like Transformers, T.M.N.T., Tiny Toons, and  Duck Tales came in well before Spider-Man or the X-Men.  It all sucked compared to playing with Legos though.

Cheers to all the cool people I've met because of t-shirts.  Also, a big thanks to all my friends that claim to not mind when I spam them about my tee designs on days like today! :-)  Y'all are the best.
