About the artist
Tell us about this design.
From the greatest show on NBC -- nay, television! -- I have presented the first ever Chuck shirt on TeeFury. Meet Jeff, Lester, and Chuck, the eclectic crew we proudly call the Nerd Herd. Simply known as The Herd, for all you Herders out there.
Where are you from?
Let the microphone fall from the sky because I need to tell you that I weigh in at One Hundred Forty Pounds of pure, unadulterated delight, and I hail from MOUNT LAUREL, NEW JERSEY!!! MISTER MCNULTY!!! (dramatic pause) MCNULTY!!!
How did you get started designing t-shirts?
I graduated college and found the real world works in a super weird way. I was told I was too qualified for the jobs I could get and under qualified for the jobs I really wanted. And after being told I should be in comics after each interview, the next natural step was t-shirt designs.
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
As my lesbian sixth grade music teacher sang to me before she downed two grapes, which seemed too hilarious not to mention: Never give up, push forward, good things come to those who give, you can find a better way by thinking positive.
What would be your dream job?
Illustrating comic books, with my twin brother as my writer.
What is your favorite thing about animals?
I’m tempted to say nothing, but those fuzzy tails on those bunnies…like the Playboy bunnies…yeah, they tickle my fancy alright.
What would your ideal house be like?
Willy Wonka’s Chocolate factory, minus those oompa loompa bastards.
Classic Dr. Who vs. modern Dr. Who: which would win the battle?
The modern Doctor. Bow ties are cool.
What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
Comics, obviously. Except for the X-Men animated, Spider-Man animated, Batman and Superman animated. They were pretty righteous. Phil fact: It was episode one of X-Men, “Night of the Sentinels,” that guided me on my path to becoming a comic book artist. You listening, Marvel?
And Gambit was my boy! That was my favorite title.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
TeeFury, Marvel, comic book resources, newsarama, DC comics, and facebook – for stalking, of course. What else would you use it for?
Any shout outs?
Much thanks to everyone at TeeFury. Thanks, McG, without you, this shirt would not be possible. Thanks, Yvonne Strahovski, for being you. Thanks, Nerd Herd (yeah, Yvonne takes precedence over you guys). Thanks, Chris Potter, for voicing Gambit—with style. Thanks, Mrs. Tedesco, for supplying the most upbeat, positive message since the Beatles. And thank you for buying a shirt.
