A word from TeeFury:
All work and no play makes Johnny 5 a dull bot.
Tell us a bit about this design.
Basically, it's a mashup of Short Circuit and The Shining.
Where are you from?
I'm from Hamilton, New Zealand.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I really want them to know that in the not too distant future I will be creating an epic web-based comic adventure, based around futuristic hero Johnny Jetsmith, in that age old battle between good and evil. But this time it's...in spaaaace! Yes. Space. Keep an eye out for developments
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
I really don't want them to know that i'm actually a camel. And have been storing stolen household items in my hump to later sell on the internet. I had been hiding several packs of salt & vinegar flavoured Pringles in it, but my brother, the chipmunk, kept eating them. Don't ask - family dramas.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Pie. Batman. Basketball. Playing pie while eating batman while wearing a basketball costume.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
Similar to what I do now, only not as good. I did spend a good deal of time creating my own sidescrolling video game on paper, inspired I think by Commander Keen. Each level was about three pages long.
What is your favorite thing about robots?
You know, i'm glad you asked. I've been dying to tell the world my favourite thing about robots but haven't had the opportunity. I could reference the awesome beep boop sounds they make, or the fact that many have wheels for legs, or even that they could be fluent in over six million forms of intergalactic communication, but I think my absolute favourite thing about robots is that I can create an army of them and train them to do my evil bidding, enslaving all mankind and allowing me to one day become the ruler of the world. And maybe even other planets one day.
Sledding vs. snowball fight: which would win the battle?
My lack of snow experience does not lend it self well to answering the important question. Why can't we all just get along?
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
My rather egotistial answer is probably my own design "Finding Technicolor" that I had up at shirt.woot a number of years back. It's been my most successful, so holds a special place in my heart. In a rather less egotistical answer, I often find myself wearing "Put the Needle on the Record" by Steven Bonner at Threadless. It's a simple and clever design, plus the slightly raised ink makes it so much more enjoyable to rub my hands over my already finely sculpted chest.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
hmm. all are good, but I probably watch more movies than I do the others .I'm not sure of my favourite, but I can definitley say I've always loved the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I always find it a big inspiration whenever I watch it, and gets me thinking creatively. It probably has also been an encouragement that despite being in little New Zealand, there's still the opportunity to be creative and have success on the world stage. Something I'd never realised before it.
What inspires your work?
Movies, books, other creative people's approaches to thinking and creating, the desire for world domination. All the normal stuff.
Any shout outs?
I'd like to thank whoever tried to steal my design and submit it to TeeFury as their own, and a big thanks to Jimmy and the TeeFury team for realising that it was actually mine and offering me the chance to get it printed.
