this is a really striking design. i need to consider the messages i would be sending by wearing it, but artistically i find it fantastic. it's just such a violent movie, and anything in this outfit is really harsh and confrontational, so it's something to consider over the next 23 hours.

oooh! I LOVE the Dinosol side art! I was just watching Jurassic Park a couple of days ago.

This is an awesome an slightly obscure reference.

I'd definitely consider purchasing that if it were printed on a shirt.

As for the clockwork orange design, it's cool and slightly creepy! Although I've never seen the movie in full.

For those that do not get it: A Clockwork Orange is a 1960’s Novel by Anthony Burgess. Stanley Kubrick re-mastered the novel into a movie, and this adjoined with a René Magritte piece from of art to the movie bases. For those who do not understand… that is cool, you will look it up. For those that get this – I would have preferred Samuel Beckett as the inspirational image as that would have been in juxtaposition of the character Alex – sitting on a tree waiting with stuffed pants… However, good art, good reference, and wonderful follow through – I knew the references the moment I checked in! Wonderful show... To the artist – I thank you for you art and for showing!

This is the first shirt in a long time that I want in my possession right this second. I love the parodies that the original art has spawned (like macbook decals) and this is just above and beyond.

I would also buy the Scotty Dog in a second. Those are two of my favorites mashed together! Love it!

Jurassic Park throwback! Ha!

Spinal Tap would be a definite win but it seems like it needs a little more fine tuning. There's plenty of detail on the bones and guitars, but their pants are way too simple (most notably Nigel's). It just doesn't seem very cohesive. Not to be a Debbie Downer though! I love it anyways.

I don't think I've liked any tees enough to buy them since the last grab bag.. So: Finally! And on brown :)! SOLD! Just when I was wondering if I'd be one of those sore TeeFury marooners.

...why is it that inevitably everyday someone complains about not getting the reference when there is always an explanation on the right side of the page?! Seriously people, read and think a little before blabbing and bitching because the reference isn't from Twilight or Jersey Shore. I just don't get it. If you don't want to read, don't open a web browser. Go sit in front of the TV instead.

Oh, come on. Coming off a little high and mighty there.
For one, just because you read the side explanation, doesn't mean you're automatically going to go "Oh! René Magritte’s “The Son of Man" meets Alex! Of course!".

Secondly, there's always going to be someone who doesn't get it and says so. Concluding that all they must watch is Jersey Shore and Twilight is just downright silly. Since when does anyone here *ever* mention wanting more references to either of those?

I admit I'm not really digging this. For me it feels like a connection for the sake of a connection (i.e. it's not really ironic or funny). And I know people sometimes say that they don't care, but I think you guys that buy this are going to get asked constantly what your shirt is about.

A good design, but it seems a bit heavy-handed in its effort to get the reference right. Everyone knows what Alex looks like, and the orange is right there too, so it seems to be like "DO YOU GET IT???". Would have preferred something a little more subtle, I guess.

Tell us a bit about this design.

This is my take on René Magritte’s “The Son of Man,” with a little Kubrick twist thrown in. I’ve always loved surrealist art and A Clockwork Orange is one of my wife’s favorite movies, so while we were talking about the movie recently, this design popped into my head.

Where are you from?

I’ve moved around a bit over the years, but about 97% of my life has been spent in and around the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas.

What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?

My favorite color is and always has been orange.

What do you absolutely not want them to find out?

I’ve only ever watched A Clockwork Orange once in my life.

Name a few of your favorite things.

The Back to the Future trilogy, MST3K, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, The Venture Bros., The Food Network, Disney World, chicken, my Scottish Terrier, and my iPhone, to name a few.

What kind of art did you make as a kid?

I loved drawing cartoon characters. Mostly Looney Tunes and Calvin & Hobbes, but also few of my own design.

What is your favorite thing about Clockwork Orange?

As I already said, I’ve only ever seen the film once. It’s a deeply disturbing movie and not one that I can just pop in on a lazy Saturday afternoon and watch with a big bowl of popcorn (though my wife would certainly argue that point with me). If I had to pick a favorite thing, it would be Malcolm McDowell’s performance. So intense!

Star Wars vs. Star Trek: which would win the battle?

Wow, that’s a tough one. Probably Star Wars since having the force beats not having the force any day, and I think Star Wars might fight dirty. On the other hand, Star Trek doesn’t have Gungans, so I think I’ll just call it a draw.

Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.

It's a shirt I've had for a few years that's also based on yet another iconic Magritte painting, “The Treachery of Images.” It’s got a Mario Bros. piranha plant coming out of a pipe with the inscription “Ceci n'est pas une pipe.” I love it because I know that if I meet a random stranger who truly gets the joke on all levels, we would instantly become best friends.

Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.

I love to read, but I’ve become such a multi-tasker (though some might call it A.D.D.), that I have a hard time devoting my time to sitting and doing only one thing. I’m more the type to be watching a movie while on my laptop, tabbing between some game and a drawing I’m working on. Or, if I’m not watching a movie, I love listening to audio books. I’m currently listening to The Dark Tower series by Stephen King for the second time. I love those books so much, and I’m currently working on one or two Dark Tower inspired designs.

What inspires your work?

I dunno… Lack of sleep mostly.

My wife Courtney for inspiring this design, my parents for supporting my terribly irresponsible decision to pursue art as a career, my dog Marty, and of course, Malcolm McDowell.
