Aw, I was really hoping for a Doctor Who shirt today in honor of the awesome premier of the new season that was on earlier. Ah well.

Tell us a bit about this design.

When I watched Conan's final show, this comment in his closing remarks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isfHFfI81xU) really struck me. The cadence also happened to reminded me of the classic "Keep Calm and Carry On" WWII poster, so I immediately started working on this design.

Where are you from?
 I'm originally from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (not the mitten). I went to college at USC and have been in Los Angeles ever since.

What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?

I'm currently in the longest possible distance relationship with a lady in New York City. It is very inconvenient, and she is 100% worth it. We write a blog together called LA Versus NY. Check it out! (http://laversusny.tumblr.com/)

What do you absolutely not want them to find out?

I've been too lazy to properly hang anything on my walls since I moved in. I moved in four years ago.

Name a few of your favorite things.

Photography. Specialty ice creams. Improv. Dogs. Science. Honey badgers. You know, the usual.

What kind of art did you make as a kid?

I remember brainstorming and sketching action figure series with my friend in 2nd grade. One of them involved anthropomorphic food that we liked. The leader was named Captain Pizza, and his included weapons were a pizza cutter and a gun that shot sharp slices of pizza.

What is your favorite thing about Conan?

The class with which he handled the NBC situation. It would have been very easy for him to let it become negative, and it was very inspiring to watch someone I've been a fan of since middle school handle such a bad situation with so much finesse.

Tall vs. short: which would win the battle?

Tall's got the reach, but short is scrappy, with a never-give-up attitude. I think the real winner is the crowd being treated to a stirring match-up between these two venerable competitors.

Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.

I own a shirt with a Super Mario Bros. pipe on it, above the text "Ceci n'est pas une pipe". I adore it because it doesn't make me choose between a pretentious fine art joke and a pretentious video game joke.

Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.

I don't know about better, but I'm going to say reading, just because that's the one I wish I had more time for. I'm a big Hemingway fan, so let's go with "The Complete Short Stories of Ernest Hemingway: The Finca Vigía Edition" as my favorite.

What inspires your work?

My friends, my hobbies, and trying new things. If I design something for fun, it's usually because I want to try some technique or style that I haven't used before.
