Update: The Torchwood-themed design that was originally scheduled for tonight has been postponed while we investigate a trademark concern. We are looking into revising the design. Thanks for your patience! - MJ
The best part of this shirt is that it doesn't reference a science-fiction film. Inglorious Basterds was great. Thank you teefury for recognizing other great movies.
foghorne023 said: Hated this movie. plus this shirt is borderline racist.
Ok, first off, how could tou hate Inglorious Basterds? And secondly, how is racist? Apaches and scalping? It was in the movie. Anyone who's seen it will get the joke. Come on, man.
Though now I want a matching Donowitz one, something with say, a not-so-subtle hint at breaking his competitors' kneecaps with his bat (ignoring the fact that he's "dead" at the end of the film, of course).

I live next to a lage population of American Indians. when you use a offensive term like "scalping" with obvious Indian icons like feathers and arrows thats racist. I dont care what movie it was in. teefury never should have allowed this shirt to be printed.
Yeah! Im always referencing this part of the movie with my friends. INSTABUY. Gotta love Inglorious Basterds. Good design and I love that it is in Military Green (like there was any other color that would work the same...) Props for this one!
So I JUST bought this movie since blockbuster is closing and trying to get rid of all of their inventory . . . I haven't watched it yet, but I think I'll make the effort to watch it in the evening and see what I think of this tee before the clock strikes midnight lol

I think this is a good idea, but maybe referencing skull instead of knee, that scene was as amazing with the special effects as it was kinda shocking when you first saw it.
I'm happy for the designer of this shirt but you broke your word, "That's why for the next few days we'll be highlighting some of Great Britain's most awesome entertainment exports- so if you enjoy that trademark British humor, stay tuned!" Isn't this from a US film?
Didn't care for the movie. Also what is it with not drawing in eyes lately? It's seriously creepy. :( Congrats on the print but this is a pass for me. My bank account thanks you.
Nice to see a theme that hasn't been done to death though. (Don't rip me a new one. I LOVE Dr Who but I'd like to have more than just Dr Who & Star Wars in my closet.)
I was flip-flopping back and forth on whether or not I should get this, especially since I'm pretty sure I'll be all about the Torchwood design, but as it happens, it's my b-day, and I think if it's my b-day and I like but don't need another t-shirt by any means, I should be entitled to purchase it without guilt, anyway.
stugurl said: okay, i hear a lot of disappointment about this not being a torchwood shirt ... what did i miss? was there torchwood side art that i missed?
We got an email with sneak peeks for Monday, Tuesday, and today. Today's shirt was supposed to be a Torchwood shirt.
By the way if you haven't seen Torchwood find a copy. It's a great British tv show. It's a spin off of Dr Who but it's not exactly like Dr Who. Kind of hard to explain Capt Jack. Basically he's an omnisexual guy from the future who is stuck in a fixed point in time. So he doesn't age at all. He runs Torchwood. They investigate strange goings on around the UK. The new season they are going to be in the US though.

Yes, but Austin Powers was in Inglourious Basterds so it's a little British.
Awesome idea and the majority of the design is cool... but Aldo's face and scar looks off. Compared to the rest of the shirt it could of used more detail...
I wanted to show how iconic the character is and how just by hinting at his major details, you still know who it is. Plus it looked better for the fake store logo. I had him with a full face and face paint originally, but after reading that some people were offended I'm glad I didn't push it any further...
I do have to say though, its not Teefury's or spacemonkeydr's fault for the references to the Apache/scalping. It is literally his nickname in the movie "Aldo the Apache" and he does order his men to scalp the teddybears. So if your gonna blame anyone, blame Tarantino... for making an EPIC movie :D
26 hours without power due to storms and I missed yesterday's shirt. Must get a generator or work my way through the firewall at work so this does not happen again.
Racist? has anyone saying this actually seen the movie? It's about a bunch of Jews killing NAZI'S for flams sake. during WWII. during the Holocaust. with a bat. What the hell.
I don't know if this is allowed, but what the heck.
Any female with size Small would like to purchase this one and then trade it for Mystery Theater 3K (http://www.teefury.com/archive/1164/MysteryTheater3K/) which I ordered last week?
I like the shirt a lot actually. The movie was cool too. You should have just went with the face, paint and all. I go to a tribal college(UTTC) and most of my classmates(art/art marketing), if not all would be like cool shirt!, and talk about the movie or something haha
CURSE YOU TEE FURY! I neeed to save so bad! now I have to spend the next 12 hours 39 minutes and 10 seconds with inner turmoil over weather to buy this or not!
I really don't like the angle of the arrows though - to me it looks like the dude's arms are cut off and he has arrows for hands. I wouldn't buy the shirt because of it. (Unless arrow-arms is the intent - I never saw the film).
LOVE that both tees are printed on olive. I would have been mighty bummed to find the womens tee in a pastel, had I wanted to buy.
I sat thru this movie, and never figured out why people were laughing and cheering, and I am a Quentin fan. I'm usually the one who has explain the movie/ show to my friends......oh well I'll wait for torch wood.
I'm confused as to why people feel the need to comment on how they don't like the base subject so they don't like the shirt...Nobody likes every shirt, if you did you would be broke. So why bother leaving negative comments on them.

because it's a comment section. I think the shirt is cool looking, but just didnt like the base subject.

this shirt dosnt reference anything jewish. the references are American Indian. the term "Scalping" is derogatory. would teefury print a shirt with the "N" word on it.....no and you would be a fool to wear one. there is a section of the population who have never seen this film and when they see this shirt its going to come across as rude and offensive. this shirt is distasteful to say the least.

There is nothing racist about this shirt. He was called the Apache because he carried the tradition some native americans followed (i.e. scalping). The movie was brilliant, and embodied what a lot of jewish boys wished they could have done in WWII.

If you had seen the movie you would know the shirt is a reference to a group of jews taking out one of modern histories greatest evils, not native americans per se. Also, how is scalping the same as the N-word? If it said Injun, half-breed, redskin, or prairie/swamp/timber N-word that would be comparable. Being P.C. is one thing, being ignorant and wannabe-p.c. when you don't understand something is another.

Love the concept and design. The neck scar/mustache/jawline area seems a little weird to me though, almost like a double mouth when the eyes are absent.

tell you what moron you buy that shirt and wear it where I live and see how long you last then tell me if you think im being too pc
This is what we call a "play on words". Scalping is a "homonym". You just plain don't get the reference either, as the Brad Pitt character is part Apache and he and his soldiers actually DO scalp the enemy... whom are teddybears.
Honestly some people.. If you wore a shirt that had Dave Chappelle's face on it as his Rick James character, grinding his dirty feet into a couch and the text "smurf YO COUCH, NIGGA", One would hope people wouldn't think you were a racist, but rather an avid Chappelle fan.

Wow - a lot of folks against Tarantino? Heartbreaking.. I love the idea but something about the design doesn't allure me as much as your past designs. Great concept though! :)

I believe the apache tribe did scalp their victims during the colonialization of the united states, correct. they did basically the same thing as in the movie using gorilla tactics as well as fear and intimidation to protect their women and children from the savagery of the invading white man. If you ask me I would say it would be a point of pride to know that my direct ancestors were willing to go to such lengths to protect their own. I can understand where someone might be sensitive to someone mocking their culture, if thats what it was intended for, but at the same time I would probably say f!*k them too. if they're the type to diss like that in the first place then they're probably an a##hole anyways. Somebody treys to take my land and rape my woman and put my kid into bondage you can bet your ass I'll use any and all means to dissuade them from doing so including scalping. History could say whatever it wanted about me, my family, or my people, but in the end, I still took that son of a bleepers mother blanking scalp.
Warning: Some people are taking their arguments a little too far. You can't threaten other posters when you disagree with them, and you can't insult them.
This shirt's kinda racist. And the movie was really mediocre. And I don't agree with the decision to make him faceless. It just makes him look creepy. I'm gonna have to pass on this.
This one isn't really my taste. I just can't get over it not having eyes. Just too creepy for me. However... I would LOVE for your Capt. Morgan shirt to be printed next month. (PLEASE not this month. I have no more money for shirts this month.)
Oi, don't tell me not to complain about no Torchwood, I have a right. They promised a Torchwood shirt, and everyone was expecting it -- so when they don't deliver, break the promise, I'm upset. C'mon! Don't tell me to stop complaining.
I have no idea what this Inglorious Basterds thing is, so maybe that's why I'm upset. I didn't buy yesterday's shirt because I was waiting to spend my money on a Torchwood shirt. Baw. I guess I'm saving more money today.
Nonetheless, this is a cool design and VERY well-played. Seems to be selling well, many congrats to the artist. (;
My art teacher once said " the worst thing you can say to an artist, is his work would never offend anyone" , and so spacemonkeydr is making art , and this was 2nd buy from Tee Fury ,
a nice Kill Bill related design , maybe a logo for the Crazy 88 gang , or something related to the Bride would be cool .

Also, how is scalping the same as the N-word? If it said Injun, half-breed, redskin, or prairie/swamp/timber N-word that would be comparable. Being P.C. is one thing, being ignorant and wannabe-p.c. when you don't understand something is another.

I have no idea what this Inglorious Basterds thing is, so maybe that's why I'm upset. I didn't buy yesterday's shirt because I was waiting to spend my money on a Torchwood shirt. Baw. I guess I'm saving more money today.
Nonetheless, this is a cool design and VERY well-played. Seems to be selling well, many congrats to the artist. (;
