About the artist
Tell us about this design.
Dust off your browncoats and holster your Alliance-issued pistols, River Tam & The Fireflies are ready to come back from the black and right into your hearts with their new album "Serenity"! Join the crew of this firefly class transport ship as they aim to misbehave with hit songs such as "I Swallowed A Bug", "Nothin' Twixt My Nethers", and their new, hit single "Miranda". You can't stop the signal, and after your first listen, you'll never want to!
Where are you from?
A little spot in the 'verse known as Los Angeles.
How did you get started designing t-shirts?
For several years I worked as a concept artist in the video game industry. A few years ago I designed some shirts for a british punk band called "TAT" for the van's warped tour and that was really my first foray into t-shirt design. Teefury has been kind enough to feature me now for a 2nd time this year, and it's pretty awesome!
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
Design something you're passionate about, but also make sure it's something that you would want to spend your hard-earned money on, livin' aint cheap these days.
What would be your dream job?
My dream job would be to help Nathan Fillion bring back Firefly.
What is your favorite thing about Firefly?
Everything... literally. I don't know if there has been a more perfect series on television. I love the whole universe that Joss Whedon created, and then filled with extremely well developed and interesting characters brought to life by amazing actors. I also really liked the whole Blue Sun thing... google it people!
What would your ideal house be like?
My ideal house would be a hobbit hole, but with a modern twist. I would like an arcade room and a home theater setup so i'd never have to leave the Shire.
Electric vs. acoustic: which would win the battle?
Electric... shoot... acoustic... no wait, electric. Yeah, electric. But just barely.
What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
As a kid i loved all three so i'll just run down them in order: Spiderman, Ren & Stimpy, and Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
I have quite a few favorite websites, but for the sake of narrowing it down i'll say Kotaku.com for my video-game news. io9.com for my sci-fi news, and whedonesque.com for my Joss Whedon news.
Any shout outs?
I would like to thank my friends at The Puma Lounge including but not limited to Kflo, Miso, and Aunt Nikki. I would also like to thank Summer Glau for being so awesome, and Joss Whedon for creating everything he does. But most importantly, i'd like to thank everyone that buys and enjoys this shirt. You are all leaves on the wind, watch how you soar.
