About the artist
Tell us a bit about this design.
I like vintage art, and art nouveau (especially Mucha) is a style that I had not tackled yet. Recently, I saw some art by the talented Megan Lara (http://www.meganlara.com) that re-envisioned 8-bit princesses in the style of Mucha. Then I thought, let's take this a step forward -- to space, of course! The timing was perfect.
Where are you from?
Little Rock, Arkansas
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I'm not an art student, a full time artist, or took art classes. I'm in graduate school, finishing my doctorate this summer: art is just a hobby I've had for years. So between work, school, and hours drawing... that doesn't leave much time for anything else.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
My secret identity.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Ich liebe Piggys und mag Apfelstrudeln, Cremetorten, Kirschtorten, Schnitzel mit Nudeln! Wildgänse fliegend hoch über den Seen, Tiere im Wald und Feld finde ich schön.
I also like raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
And brown paper packages tied up with strings.
These are a few of my favorite things.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
Really, really terrible art. With about 100% more Robocop.
What is your favorite thing about the universe?
It comes with Disney World.
Giant squid vs. giant panda: which would win the battle?
Giant squid, definitely.
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
I have a shirt that says "Ninjas Know How to Clean House." I like it because it's true, and there is nothing better than the truth.
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
I'd have to go with reading. I highly recommend "The Alphabet of Manliness."
What inspires your work?
Other artists, the suggestions of my friends, and sometimes just the consumer demand for highly amusing pictures.
Any shout outs?
This goes out to all my friends, coworkers, and family ... and especially to Manuela, Georgie, Harvey, Bob, Mark, and to God, who makes all things new. Thanks for years of continuous, constant support!
