I really enjoy answering interview questions, and also getting to know my fans a bit better, so once again I've chosen a selection of questions that were submitted through my Facebook page. Thanks to everyone who sent in a question!

I want to know about your first print EVER?! And I don't mean Teefury print. Just your first print...EVER! (from Ruth I. Jimenez)
My first print ever was a t-shirt that I designed a little over 4 years ago for The Doors through a client who specialized in band merchandise. Shortly after that, I got my first print at an online site with my design "A Voyage of Discovery" that was one of the big winners in the Threadless 555 competition. It was an incredible feeling and inspired me to keep submitting designs to various sites.

How many submissions did it take till Tee Fury accepted your first design? (from Karen Hallion)

As I mentioned earlier, my first foray into the online t-shirt world was through Threadless, where it took me 18 submissions before I got a print. At TeeFury, I was actually approached about "Chariots Retired" which was retired from their sister site DesignByHumans, and became my first TeeFury print. At the time it was their highest-selling design, though of course it's been WAY surpassed by tons of awesome designs since then.

Going with the whole looking back idea, what did you want to be as a child, and what were you doing, artistically, before the freelancing thing took off? (from Nikki Robertson)

I can't say that I really gave a lot of thought to my future vocation when I was a child,but if you'd asked me at the time, I probably would have said Super Grover. Actually yeah, I'm still good with that answer.

Before my freelancing career took off, I was working as an editor & post-production artist for a small film and video company. Before that I worked as a graphic artist for the local news. Before that I was in school for fine art, and before THAT I was a fetus.

Just for fun, I'm going to bypass all of the cliche picks like flight or invisibility or time travel, and say that I'd like to have the superpower of always having the right thing to say to any person in any situation. It seems small I know, but really - think of the adventures you could have and the trouble you could get out of if you always knew what to say. And not in a mind-control / mind-reading sort of way which always feels a bit morally suspect to me. I guess you could call it SuperCharisma™

If you were in a horror movie would you want to be the killer or the victim? (from Heather D)

See, those both sound like terrible options to me, so instead I think I'd choose to be the slightly dim but lovable sheriff's deputy who has a number of scares, but ultimately survives the ordeal and drives off with the nerdy but cute supporting actress while all the main characters are busy congratulating themselves.

What were/are your favorite childhood toys? (from David Essex)

I distinctly remember a plastic shark toy I had that devoured numerous rubber duckies and kept me entertained through many a bath time. Also a Red Ryder BB gun with which I never once shot my eye out. Also, I currently have both Legos and Transformers on my desk, so probably those too.

Your house is on fire and you can only save three things- excluding people and pets (we assume they get out fine), what do you save? (from Stephanette Smith)

1. A box of family photos.

2. My backup drive that contains all of the design work I've ever done.
3. A towel. Because as we all know, a towel is the most massively useful single item a person can have.
