Tell us a bit about this design.
I'm a big fan of the graphic novel, V For Vendetta (it wasn't a bad movie, either). It's easy to say the V's mask is one of the most noticeable masks in existence, so creating a tee-design for it was a must. The design centers around the manipulation of the infamous Tragedy & Comedy masks.
Where are you from?
Texas, born-and-raised, baby!
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I consider myself a creative person that likes to dip his pen into various fields of the art world. I've experienced web development, marketing, advertising, and freelance art-work. I'm the marketing director in-training for a Texas-wide A/V company but I spend a lot of my time on freelance webdev & art-work, for which I'm truly passionate about.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
The amount of spec work that I've done in the past. For shame.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Reading, playing games, watching movies, running, spending time with my family, oxygen, edamame's, tea (preferably of the Long Island variety), money, Apple, water, trees... oh my bad, you said a few.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
I was always a fan of making mazes. I'd spend 2 hours making a huge maze on notebook paper and then I'd see how long it took for my friends to complete it. I still catch myself doodling mini-mazes when I'm bored or at a loss of creativity... see, I'm drawing one now.
What is your favorite mask, and why?
Besides V's, that's a tough cookie. I'd really love to get my hands on a Rorschach mask that really changes and moves based on heat-sensitivity, though. I don't think I'd ever take it off.
Online vs. offline: which would win the battle?
Online definitely has all the advantages, it's the stuff that dreams are made of. That is, until Snake Plissken blows it all away with his doomsday device.
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
I'm still on the hunt for Jimiyo's BOOM shirt (someone sell it to me!) but as of now, my favorite tee is probably my Johnny Chimpo shirt. I've had it for years and it's freakin' Johnny Chimpo! Google it (at your own risk).
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
That's a tough one, what's with all the tough questions? Geez. If I was held at gunpoint, I'd probably pick movies... but I'm an avid reader/gamer as well. My favorite movie is Legend, not to be confused with that crappy I Am Legend Will Smith movie. Tim Curry is God's gift to acting, I tell you.
What inspires your work?
Besides everyday life, nostalgia has a large influence in my art. The older I get, the more I reminisce on the "good ol' days"; the games we played, the toys we had... if I could go back to playing 8-bit video games and watching TMNT until my bedtime, I'd die happy. Oh yeah, I still do that now!
Any shout outs?
I appreciate Jimiyo's help in finalizing the design, Teefury for printing it, and my danish buddy Jacob for continuing to push my creativity. Also a big shout-out to the boys at GameTZ, the only online community that'll still put up with my sorry ass.
