Tell us about this design.
I have been a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series for a long time, and FF7 is probably my favorite game of all time. I wanted to do a design that would feature a character that everyone that plays FF would know and appreciate, and the chocobo is it. Their evolution from game to game is pretty cool, and if you can breed a golden one, why not a chocolate one?
Where are you from?
I'm originally from Chicago, but I live in San Francisco right now.
How would you describe your style?
I have a varying style, and I like to try new things otherwise I get bored. I have probably tried every style there is at least once, just to see if I could do it, but my favorite was always the collage-type design. I love adding lots of elements that are connected to the main theme of the design, that way you always seem to find something cool hidden in there.
If you could collaborate with anyone, who would you pick?
Oh boy, there's so many...Some of my personal favorite shirt artists though are alexmdc, austin pardun, buko, and of course jimiyo haha.
What historical figure do you most admire?
I just watched 300 again so I gotta give it up to Leonidas. That dude was brave.
If you weren't designing shirts, what would you be doing?
Honestly, surfing youtube all day. But probably work at guitar center, I love that place. I went in the other day and spent like 2 hours just playing around with stuff. I think I'm gonna have to buy a synthesizer now...
Would you rather fight a squid or a flock of seagulls?
Haha such a random question. I guess a squid, more bragging rights. Not many people have a trophy kill of a squid under their belt. Besides, I do love sushi.
Elves vs. trolls: which would win the battle?
Hands down to Elves. Doesn't Lord of the Rings pretty much show how that battle would go down?
What is your favorite t-shirt color?
I love a good black shirt, definitely my favorite. I think I only own one white t-shirt, and hardly ever wear it anyways.
What has been your favorite vacation or travel experience?
I had a great trip to Sonoma and Muir Woods not too long ago, but that's not going very far for me. I will be going to Mardi Gras this year though and can't wait for that.
