Well I'm a huge LOTR fan, so I was thinking of making a shirt for a while. My girlfriend had actually mentioned the idea to me, and I tinkered with it a bit until I had something I though was a very wearable design, yet could represent a lot of elements from the story.
Where are you from?
The short answer to that is Chicago. The long answer is that I was born in Los Angeles, moved to Chicago while I was still pretty young and lived there until college. I went to the University of Arizona and ended up living in Phoenix, AZ for a while. Now I am in San Francisco, CA and am just having a great time living in the city.
How did you get started designing t-shirts?
I had actually just lost my job as a web/graphic designer, and while I was searching the net one day I came across Design By Humans. The rest is history. I loved designing and learning about the industry and about all the different sites that were out there.
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
It is far from easy to do this. It takes a lot of time to understand how the right combination of presentation and idea can make a design a hit or not. But keep developing your style and keep looking at others designs, it really helps.
What would be your dream job?
Besides this, haha, my dream job would be being a Lead Modeler for a company like ILM, or possibly an Art Director for a similar company.
What are your feelings about Lord of the Rings?
Probably my favorite movies of all time. I had actually read the first book before the movie came out and thought it was great, but the movies completely took me away to another world. Because of the movies I actually decided what I wanted to do for a living. Once I saw the special effects I knew I had to get into that industry, now I'm on my way.
What would your ideal house be like?
Well since Minas Tirith isn't real, I'll have to settle for something simpler...and in that case, a room that is both a greenhouse and a music room would make me feel like I was pretty successful.
What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
I did love them all, but it was definitely movies for me. I have always enjoyed fantasy movies, and specifically remember that no matter how much it scared me, I watched the Dark Crystal over and over.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
I really love emptees, there is always such amazing work on there. I also love deviant art and youtube, I'm probably browsing those like half the day...

Big thanks to my girlfriend Stephanie, she put the idea in my head, so we can all thank her for that...and of course to all the people that are supporting my designs, and to everyone that comments on teefury, cuz I love reading all of them!
