Tell us a bit about this design.
The design comes from my love for geek culture and sports. This shirt won't speak to everyone but the ones that get it I feel will really get it and thats my main goal with the design.
Where are you from?
I am from Wyandotte, MI. The best city in the Detroit area!
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
I am a designer with the goal of being an artist. I am not a hipster, I am a regular guy with a creative eye who would rather talk about anything other than art most of the time.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
That I usually have no idea what I am doing, I have ADHD and have no clue what I truly want in life.
Name a few of your favorite things.
Living on the water, Detroit, working out, Coffee, working for myself, having the ability to visualize what is in my head (most people don't have that gift and I appreciate the hell out of that) and being from a place most people think its something that its not.
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
I was a mimic. I loved taking kids books and trying to draw what I saw, only until my senior year of high school that I picked it back up and decided to go to college for it.
Tell us about your site, Alternative Hero.
Actually Zuba Creative is the site to talk about, its just my business and some of my work. I work for companies ranging from big marketing companies or the general contractor down the street looking to get bigger. I always say the work speaks for itself, although I will say some of my best work has not made an appearance on the site just yet.
Sports vs. art: which would win the battle?
I would like to say Sports because of its obvious physicality, however, its takes itself too damn seriously anymore. I truly think the battle would just turn into a terrible argument instead of a fist fight. Basically the worst sports talk radio show you can think of would burst out, (fat couch potato armchair quarterback jersey wearer vs. over important hipster with an ironic beard guy)
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
Probably the 1988 Detroit Pistons Bad Boy t shirt, perfect blend of nostalgia, design, and sports. Even though its still probably not that great of a design, lol
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
MOVIES, hands down. I am a visual person and being able to see the whole story unfold visually does it best for me. Best game: Love watching the new stuff but as far as playing love the vibe of the old school arcade stuff so I will go with Twilight Zone the pinball game. Movies is the impossible question, cannot answer that but will say its hard to beat both Godfather movies for being the closest to perfect films. Books is tough because I really don't read a lot but I did kill the last Harry Potter book in about 30 hours so there you go.
What inspires your work?
I love mixing techniques with a thought. I might see something I love in a movie poster and then take a random thought in my head and try to merge the two together. Hell I have no idea, half the time anything good I have ever made came from literally just playing around in Photoshop.
