About the artist
Word from jimiyo:
Yes, yes, we've printed a can of soup before, but it wasn't as tasty as this one!
Tell us a bit about this design.
My girlfriend and I love coming up with new creative concepts. This design would be the love child of Andy Warhol and George A. Romero! Who doesn't like soup? Who doesn't like zombies? Most would draw the line at liking Zombie Soup... but not at TeeFury... I know you guys are into some fairly whack stuff!
Where are you from?
I'm from a place called Leixlip in Ireland. Leixlip is the home of Guinness and we are sister cities with Niles in Illinois (I'm not entirely sure that this is even a real place). Legend has it that the ghost of Arthur Guinness can be seen wandering the streets of Leixlip after 10 pints of the black stuff. I make it my duty to go on a ghost hunt every Friday night. Sometimes on a Saturday night too.
What do you want TeeFury fans to know about you?
That we're hoping to launch a website in 2011. We have a lot of creative stuff in the pipeline that we'd like to be able to showcase online.
What do you absolutely not want them to find out?
Probably that i have a chronic flatulence problem? Oops...
Name a few of your favorite things.
Travelling is right up there... last summer my girlfriend and I hit 6 different European cities in two weeks (Paris, Venice, Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Amsterdam). Funnily enough, I don't remember too much about being in Amsterdam... strange!
Other than that it would be going to see live music... the last gig I went to was Elton John and before that it was Guns 'n' Roses... so you could say that I have an eclectic taste in music! But just to set the record straight... I'm more of a GNR fan than an Elton John fan!
What kind of art did you make as a kid?
I was a pencil and a piece of paper kind of kid. I used to sketch anything from a rabbit to Lion O from the Thundercats. Music is art too, right? If that's the case I smashed up so many of my mothers pots and pans as a child as I used them as a makeshift drumkit.... oh how my father would laugh!!!
Which monster would you most like to defeat in combat?
Well seeing as Zombies are a big inspiration to me and the fact that I'm Irish, it would have to be the the Fin Bheara. The Fin Bheara is a mythical Irish monster also known as the King of the Dead!
Brains vs. brawn: which would win the battle?
Zombies = Brains!
Describe your favorite shirt that you own, and why you like it so much.
I don't wear it anymore but I still have a yellow Hulkmania tee from well back in the day. This tee single-handedly got me into the whole tee culture. Hulk Hogan... what a lad he used to be!
Which is better, gaming, reading, or watching movies? Name your favorite title in your chosen medium.
Well they do say that they don't make games like they used to... that reading will make you go blind and that watching movies expands your mind. If that's the case, I'll have to opt with watching movies. My favourite movie? Probably Requiem for a dream (changes on an almost daily basis!).
Any shout outs?
A big shout out to Maeve and to all the guys in Teefury who gave this dog a frickin' bone!
