Teefury

This design came about really just as a silly idea that I jotted down in one of my sketchbooks. I think I probably saw some commercial talking about the "cavity fighting" power of some toothpaste and I thought it would be funny to see a tooth wielding a toothbrush as a weapon against the forces of darkness. Sounds kind of funny to put it into words, but that about sums it up, haha.

Not in any particular order: Movies, books, the ocean, spending time with friends and family, a good conversation, sunshine, learning new things, et cetera.

I like too many to name, but it doesn't get a whole lot better than brownies in my opinion. 

I've always thought it would be really fantastic to be able to warp time and maybe even stop it when you want to, for those moments when things seem to be moving too fast and you just want to slow everything down and soak it in. You could savor the good moments and speed through the not so good ones. In the same vein, I think it would be great to have some way to save all of your memories in one place that you could access later. I have a terrible memory, and it would be really nice to sift through my memories and know that I'll always have them stored somewhere.

Hmm, good question. To be honest, I think it might be a draw. French fries are pointy and spearlike, and could easily impale the soft, gooey center of a slice of French toast. However, French toast, by its sheer size would be able to crush more than a few French fries if dropped on them from a decent height. Then, of course, there's the hot tar-like syrup that they could pour on the unsuspecting French fries below. All things considered, I'd prefer they just agree to both be delicious and just try to get along. 

I don't think that I can really say that any of the three are better than the others; they all have their merits and I like each of them in turn. I would say that I spend more time watching movies than either of the other two, so I suppose that would be my personal preference. Picking a favorite movie is always tough for me, as I love movies and have a lot of favorites, but I would say one of my all-time favorites is the Michael Mann movie "Heat" because it's just so darn awesome.

That is a really good question, and it's one that I always love hearing the answer to from artists that I admire. I feel like in some way, everything inspires my work because for me, any sort of creative spark can get ignited by hearing a song or watching a movie or just seeing a really cool hand-painted sign or nicely designed book cover. It's often still a mystery to me where inspiration or ideas come from, but I've sort of accepted that and now I mostly just try to recognize and harness that inspiration when it comes to me.

I was recently at a bookstore and saw a book featuring the work of Femke Hiemstra, whose work I had never seen before. I was standing there flipping through this book and was blown away by her style and talent. In many ways, this sort of goes back to what inspires my work: it's seeing people like Femke who are just really good at what they do and are doing really, really nice work that makes me want to try to, in some small way, make at least a fraction of their contribution with the hope that someone will find my contribution worthwhile as well.
