All I gotz to say iz, Greedo shot first.
..from the Star Wars Wiki:
“To say “Han shot first” is to refer, often with distaste, to George Lucas’s changes to the original trilogy. Often cited by film purists, this phrase more specifically refers to the changes made to A New Hope Special Edition, in the scene involving the characters Han Solo and Greedo in the cantina. In the original version, after Greedo says “I’ve been looking forward to this moment for a long time” (talking about killing Han), Han shoots Greedo under the table while Greedo was pointing a blaster at him (the phrase “Han Shot First” is thus misleading, since only Han shoots in the original version). In the special edition, Greedo shoots at Han and misses, without explanation, from point blank range, and then Han shoots him. Later, it was altered again to have Han and Greedo shooting at almost the same time (though Greedo still shoots first), with Greedo still missing from point blank range. With such a short time between each shot, it could be assumed that Han was already planning to shoot Greedo, rather than reacting to Greedo’s shot.”
But screw all the Star Wars politics. The real purpose of this t-shirt is to inform. With this shirt to look at, you’ll never have a problem disassembling, cleaning and reassembling your Blaster ever again. All pieces are referenced and numbered, exploded to indicate placement.
Where are you from?
I'm from Dallas, Tx, but don't hold it against me. Currently living in the sticks. We've escaped the rat race. Off the grid. Terminator 2 style. Okay, not really T2 style. I do have my Blaster, though.
How did you get started designing t-shirts?
I did lots of art way back, but got a little burned out. People only shine to art for a brief flash, like passing paintings in the museum, but with tee design, this is art with function. Art that gets used alot. I like that. And it beats any other 9 to 5 I can think of..
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
I think I'm still considered an aspiring designer. I haven't quite established my "style" yet, but I'm working on it. I think I'm headed towards my fav style: mid-century modern design. Big example of that would be Samurai Jack. Any Jack fans out there?
I guess I'd have to say, if you're subbing to tee sites, don't let the constant flow of rejections get you down. Eventually you'll make it. Best thing to do is to have another use for your designs than just one or two sites. Try selling them in Artist Alleys at scifi/anime conventions. Start a website or sell off a site like etsy or spreadshirt.com. Think about selling prints. (I'm planning on taking that step next. Prints and buttons. woo!)
What would be your dream job?
Heck, this is my dream job. I work from home and go on "tour". What more can an artist ask for? (okay, not "tour" like the Beatles go on tour. let's just say I wander and beg. I'm a wandering bugger, er beggar.)
What are your feelings about comedy?
Comedy is very funny.
What would your ideal house be like?
Okay, my fav house would be a small starter on 3 or so acres of land. The lot can be just about anywhere, but at least 1 hour's drive to real civilization. Start up a flock of goats and sheep and five years later, get your agricultural exemption. Now you're saving money, maybe raising some tilapia and catfish in a pond or tanks, growing some supplemental food.. hey, life is great! That's my plan, and I'm sticking to it.
Gremlins vs. My Pet Monster: which would win the battle?
My Pet Monster would rip gremlins to shreds ...with kindness. Actually I had no idea what a 'my pet monster' was until I just googled it, but it's the coolest plushie I've ever seen. How can it be so cute and replusive at the same time? Love it.
What was your favorite as a kid: comics, cartoons, or movies? Was there a specific title you liked most of all?
All time fav were cartoons, of course. I was down with StarBlazers and lame ass Speed Racer. Thundar the Barbarian was flawed, but great concept. And would you believe, I still love cartoons! As mentioned above, Samurai Jack is my current favorite. The artwork is amazing. Decievingly simple - actually very clever. Adventure Time is another excellent show. I love love love the art. It's not my personal style, but I envy folks that can pull it off.
What are a few of your favorite websites?
The sites I most frequent lately are http://www.legendofbill.com/ - great style, David Reddick has worked on Garfield and some toons for Rod Roddenberry, The Trek Life, Rod& Barry... he's a busy guy. I really like LoB the best of all web comics.
I'm also pretty big on http://www.gama-go.com created by Tim Biskup, who worked on Ren & Stimpy and is a major retro king. Super great awesome-i-licious style. Check him out!
Any shout outs?
