About the artist
Words from the curator:
We serve many niche markets. This one is for people who love dolphins and skateboards, or just people who just love happy fun shirts. We predict this one will get you alot of smiles and comments.
Where are you located?
I live in São Paulo, Brazil.
Tell us about yourself:
I like to draw a lot, along with graphic design and animation. Have been freelancing for about a year now, and it has been awesome. I have a few more projects that you can see over at http://henriquelima.com
Where did you get your "tenso" name?
It's something I say when I make a bad joke. Sometimes bad jokes are the best though.
What's a day in the life of tenso like?
I usually have 3 kinds of days: The day I sit on the computer and talk to clients and work a lot, the day I work outside on a mural or something like that, and the day I either feel lazy and just want to play video games or decided to have a beer with the bros.
Would you rather survive a zombie apocalypse or a nuclear apocalypse?
Zombie apocalypse, though in a huge city like São Paulo I'd have no chance of survival.
Do you collect anything, or at least have any OCD about anything?
I have a stamp and coins collection from when I was a kid. Right now I'm working on my vinyl records collection. Also, books, but that's not really on purpose.
Are you an avid fan of any TV shows, movies or video games? Why is it your favorite?
I am a fan of too many of those things. Right now I've been watching Mad Men like crazy, I love ignoring shows and then watching 4 seasons in a row non-stop. And my Fallout: New Vegas game is on the way. I also need to read something, maybe after Fallout.
What was your first printed commercial piece of artwork?
It was a shirt for Camiseteria, a Brazilian t-shirt design contest website kind of like this one. This was in... 2005? 6 maybe.
How did that feel?
Pretty awesome, it was the first time I decided to take illustration seriously.
What advice would you offer to aspiring designers?
Have fun, take initiative and work a lot.
Any shout outs?
Big shout out to the Black Rockers and the Bearded Ladies.
